Guidance Counselor
Part-Time Guidance Counselor. Duties include: * Review each 9-12th grade student’s files and interpret and translate incoming credits into our system. * Work to learn how to enter records into Skyward system appropriately. * Work with the principal on any questionable credits such as treatment or project-based learning credit from other programs; including private schools; home-schools; and internet-based schools. * Meet with each high-school student and start to build a relationship of guidance in order to effectively assist them in reaching their goals. * Meet regularly with students who are struggling in classes or who may need credit recovery. * Provide guidance about how to access PSEO. * Work with each student and respective college for those who are in PSEO. * Assist students in accessing on-line courses for additional programming or credit recovery. * Monitor all on-line course progress. * Become the school proctor for on-line course exams and become the Liaison with the on-line providers. * Maintain a bulletin board at school and guidance area on the website. * Establish relationship with ASVAB people (and recruiters) and become the contact at school. * Collaborate with District Assessment Coordinator on MCA and NWEA testingall that that implies. * Keep abreast/current of the various credit recovery options available in the area, including on-line and ALC, and be able to provide assistance to students who need it. * Interact with/support parents as needed. A portion of this work could potentially be done from home on an on-your-own basis once trust is established.

School Counselor
School Counselor: This is a 1.0 FTE position beginning in August 2017. The school counselor will work collaboratively to provide a comprehensive counseling program for all students. This individual will partner with teachers, staff, administrators, and parents to enhance students’ social, emotional and academic success. The school counselor will demonstrate flexibility and compassion and be able to successfully work across all divisions, particularly the Middle and Upper Schools. The school counselor will act as an advocate for all students and adhere to ethical and legal professional standards. Finally, the ideal person must have the ability to collaborate as a member of a team, have strong communication skills, and be adaptable to many different needs and situations.
