Substitute Teacher (Special Teacher-Intermittent)

The Minnesota Correctional Facility-Rush City has an opening for a Substitute Teacher. This position will be on-call Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Provide appropriate and effective classroom instruction in an individualized manner to offenders as a substitute teacher. -Maintain a Personal Education Plan (PEP) for each student. -Maintain a well-managed, comprehensive instructional environment. -Perform all classroom administrative functions, including maintaining, producing and/or submitting accurate and up-to-date classroom information and data. -Manage special projects for the Education Department. This position is located at a Minnesota Correctional Facility and will have direct offender contact.

The Minnesota Correctional Facility-Faribault has two Substitute Teacher openings. These positions will be on-call Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Provide appropriate and effective classroom instruction in an individualized manner to offenders including preparing, maintaining, and assessing Personal Education Plans (PEP) for each student in the absence of the teacher. -Provide individual, small group, or large group teaching. -Tutor individual students and small groups in Literacy, ABE, GED or Career Technical programs. -Supervise offender clerks and tutors. -Perform departmental administrative support. -Maintain classroom record keeping. This position is located at a Minnesota Correctional Facility and will have direct offender contact.

Plans, organizes, prepares and monitors the school district budget. Consolidates educational needs and input from administrators, teachers, supervisors, and community members, and designs a composite financial plan and annual budget. Forecasts and determines future revenue based on projected enrollment, legislative changes, needs in special education, technology, capital requirements, transportation and nutrition services. Monitors and oversees budgetary requests and recommendations from program managers and program areas responsible for overseeing. Serves as the chief financial officer of the school district. Plans, formulates, organizes and administers the fiscal affairs of the school district. Supervises department staff and manages all finance, payroll and accounting processes and operations of the Business Services; also oversees and manages the delivery of services, operations and staff of transportation services, nutrition services, purchasing and print shop. Monitors staff activities to ensure generally acceptable accounting practices, laws, rules, department and district policies and procedures. Interviews, selects, evaluates, and monitors staff directly or through designated supervisor personnel. Establishes work standards and oversees the organization of the department(s) falling under Business Services. Establishes and maintains an accounting system for legal accountability and reporting of all school district funds to state and federal governmental agencies and provides accurate financial information for decision making and management of district budgets. Monitors and controls the school district’s cash flow, management and investment portfolio in accordance with rules and regulations. Coordinates school district property and casualty insurance and maintains liability insurance at appropriate levels. Oversees, supervises, and monitors the implementation district election processes and procedures. Participates in all contract negotiations and prepares cost projections and data for proposals. Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required. Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, laws, rule changes, and technologies within the field. Participates in staff development and professional development activities. Represents the District at various regional and state meetings pertaining to job responsibilities. May be required to use restrictive procedures. 4. Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans in accordance with district practice and state and federal requirements. 5. Provide training to staff related to behavioral recommendations. 6. Comply with School Board policies and administrative practices, including those procedures outlined in the staff and student handbooks. 7. Help to maintain safety of all students and the environment. 8. Utilize data to inform programming decisions and planning for student success. 9. Uses flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs and responds calmly during crisis situations, when necessary.
