POSITION SUMMARY: Provide supervision training and mentoring to Facilities employees. Promote employee and building level compliance with district, governmental health and safety by providing information, scheduling training, documenting compliance and recommending corrective action. Assist the Director of Facilities and the Safety and Security Manager in the operation and maintenance of the District physical plant and buildings. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide administrative oversight of all District custodial, warehouse, shipping and receiving processes. Direct supervision of day to day activities of custodial staff to include assignment of duties, training, coaching, inspection of assigned tasks, recruitment, contract negotiations and interpretation, selection, promoting, discipline and if necessary terminating of departmental employees. Develop daily/weekly schedules to cover planned and unplanned absences, utilizing substitute custodial pool as needed. Work with vendors to ensure maintenance equipment is in proper working order. Act as resource person for employees on occupational and environmental safety issues such as coordinating annual inspections and testing for playground equipment, radon, elevators, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, lifts etc. Conduct/coordinate the training for District employees to include Right-To-Know, Asbestos awareness, Blood borne pathogens, Confined space, Lock Out/Tag Out etc. Coordinate the accrual and disposal of hazardous waste within the district Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned

Part-time Adult Basic Education teaching position. Job description: This part-time teaching position provides an opportunity to work with adults in Forest Lake Area Schools Community Education Adult Basic Education program located at the Central Learning Center. As a part of the ABE teaching team, this position will require using cooperative teaching strategies during instruction and integrating technology into learning. Responsibilities and Expectations: Provide direct individual and group instruction to students who are learning English, improving basic academic skills, developing workplace literacy skills, completing diploma courses, and preparing for the GED exam; assist the coordinator with student assessment; return student phone calls; monitor student attendance; complete required student record keeping; provide support for on-site literacy assistants and volunteers as requested. Work Schedule:For the 2016-2017 fiscal year, this position will be approximately 7-18 hours per week for 47 weeks based on program needs. Schedule includes 7 hours per week during the summer and approximately 18 hours per week during the school year. Wages: $23.67-$37.81 per hour based on Forest Lake Area Schools Teachers’ Contract.
