Administrative Dean
Chanhassen High School

Position Start Date: August 2024FTE/Days:  1.0 FTE/ 195 days August – June
Reports To:  Building Principal

Job Summary:
The Administrative Dean is responsible for providing assistance to the Principal in the general administration and management of the building.  The Administrative Dean is the primary administrator and coordinator of the day to day student management and attendance matters.  The Administrative Dean will also assist the principal in hiring and supervising staff and in providing instructional leadership and staff development opportunities for staff. Please see essential duties and responsibilities in the attached job description.

Education/Certification Requirements:  A valid, K-12 Principal license issued through PELSB is required.

Experience Requirements: Exemplary teaching and/or administrative experience is required. Middle school teaching experience preferred.

Compensation: Annual base salary of $112,277. Additional compensation, including Education Credit, pursuant to the Principals’ Association Master Agreement.
Benefits:  As defined by the parameters of the Principals’ Association Master Agreement, an annual amount of $10,500 will be available for the Administrative Dean to distribute as he/she designates among benefits (health insurance, dental insurance).  The Administrative Dean must enroll in at least single health coverage. Additional benefits include:Term life insurance policy equal to $250,000.00, the employee may purchase additional coverage (accidental death and dismemberment or supplemental life.)
District contribution to Deferred Compensation Plan up to $3,900 per year
Professional Development:  District contribution of $1500 per year
Professional Association Dues:  District pays for one State and one National association
Annual performance pay if requirements are met
Ten (10) days of Personal Time off (PTO) and three (3) sick days are granted per year

Executive Director of Minnetonka Community Education

  1. Serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet as the leader of district-wide community education services and strategies. Provide leadership for all MCE programs and events, including early childhood, youth and adult programs, and management of the MCE building
  2. Develop and administer the Minnetonka Community Education program budget.
  3. Secure sponsorship for MCE events and programs.
  4. Serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet as the leader of district-wide community education issues and strategies.
  5. Develop and maintain School Board policies, District protocols, and operational plans related to MCE that are in compliance with state and federal law and are consistent with the District’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.
  6. Ensure robust and effective marketing of MCE including the publication of the MCE catalog.
  7. Develop and complete mutual commitments tied directly to the District’s Strategic Plan
  8. Serve as primary liaison between the Minnetonka Community Education Advisory Council, the Superintendent, participating City Councils and various community organizations regarding issues related to MCE.
  9. Provide leadership for the Minnetonka Community Education Advisory Councils.
  10. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level that may be assigned

Elementary Principal

Family and Consumer Science Teacher – .5 FTE

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a valid MN Family and Consumer Science license and CTE certified or able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing an educational environment that will help student in learning and fulfill their growth potential.  May teach topics that include nutrition, child development, household economics and goal setting, money management, careers and more.

Qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate strong knowledge and skills in areas of culinary arts, food science & nutrition, health & wellness, human development & family studies
  • Be able to process the skills to build relationships and develop a strong understanding of high school students
  • Enthusiasm to build a strong FACS program at Mahtomedi Middle School
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents and staff

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction and clear communication in the curriculum area
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings or functions
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

English Teacher – 1.0 FTE

Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
