The Director of Student Activities shall work under the direction of the High School Principals and is responsible for: 1) providing leadership and vision in carrying out the student activities program of White Bear Lake Area Schools for the district’s approximately 2,400 students in grades 9-12; and 2) performing other duties typically assigned to a Director of Student Activities. White Bear Lake Area Schools has a long tradition of excellence and this position will be charged with building upon an already successful program. Position Description: The Director of Student Activities is responsible for developing and coordinating a comprehensive 9-12 high school co-curricular activities program to include music, art, athletics, academic enrichment and all other student activities. Responsibilities: Develop and carry out the vision, mission and goals for the White Bear Lake Area Schools including student activities program in grades 9-12. Administer all White Bear Lake Area School Board Policies and Procedures and Administrative Rules and Procedures as they might affect the activities program including student behavior standards. Responsible for supervision, oversight and evaluation of licensed and non-licensed personnel, coaches, advisors and assigned teachers, included but not limited to hiring, evaluation, discipline and assignment subject to the approval of the high school principals and superintendent. Develop and manage student activities budget, coordinates with buildings and grounds department to ensure that all facilities, fields, gymnasiums and locker rooms are properly maintained and secured, and responsible for determining student eligibility of all student for all co-curricular participants. Provide effective leadership that ensures a positive learning environment and stress the importance of academic achievement.
