Performing Arts Center and Middle School Auditorium Coordinator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Coordinate supervision of all aspects of scheduled events in The Performing Arts Center at Centennial High School and Auditorium at Centennial Middle School assuring technical as well as supervisory support are met. In the event that alternate technical support is utilized, oversee and approve the training and use of equipment and operations. *Serve as technical consultant to district and community groups requesting use of performance facilities. Maintain an understanding of each event’s specific technical needs. Evening and weekend work will be required on occasion. *Learns, operates, and maintains thorough knowledge of the operational workings of the light, sound, and rigging systems in the auditorium and theatre to maintain optimum operating status. *Develop, train, and advise staff, students and volunteers in proper technical procedures. Assures that only authorized personnel use sound or light boards and rigging systems. *Maintains and updates the inventory of auditorium and theatre equipment and supplies. Establishes and maintains a secure storage facility for technical equipment. Maintains a system of checkout for all equipment checked out or used by facility users so that equipment is returned in proper working order or damage/loss is identified. *Determines personnel necessary for scheduled usage; hires, trains and supervises; schedules hours and authorizes payment according to hours worked. *Maintains a system of storage for tools, flats, and other auditorium, theatre, music, and drama supplies to assure that the auditorium, theatre and associated areas are kept orderly and clean. *Monitors repair and maintenance of auditorium and PAC areas and equipment such as bulb replacement, curtain repair/cleaning, and equipment maintenance and repair so that the Auditorium and PAC are fully available and in good operating condition for all groups. *Maintain budget for auditorium and theatres for maintenance and purchasing. *Manage consistent verbal and written communication with customers before, during and after event functions. Organize pre and post event meetings with user groups, as needed. *Communicate with all customers in person, through electronic mail, in writing and via the telephone effectively. *Set up and strike of ceiling panels, sound shells, risers, platforms, and piano for band and choir concerts. *Set up of tables and chairs as needed for events. *Recording of events when necessary. *Performs other duties of the same or similar nature as assigned.
