Adult Basic Education Teacher

Part-time Adult Basic Education teaching position. Job description: This part-time teaching position provides an opportunity to work with adults in Forest Lake Area Schools Community Education Adult Basic Education program located at the Central Learning Center. As a part of the ABE teaching team, this position will require using cooperative teaching strategies during instruction and integrating technology into learning. Responsibilities and Expectations: Provide direct individual and group instruction to students who are learning English, improving basic academic skills, developing workplace literacy skills, completing diploma courses, and preparing for the GED exam; assist the coordinator with student assessment; return student phone calls; monitor student attendance; complete required student record keeping; provide support for on-site literacy assistants and volunteers as requested. Work Schedule:For the 2016-2017 fiscal year, this position will be approximately 7-18 hours per week for 47 weeks based on program needs. Schedule includes 7 hours per week during the summer and approximately 18 hours per week during the school year. Wages: $23.67-$37.81 per hour based on Forest Lake Area Schools Teachers’ Contract. Payroll Specialist

JOB GOALS: The payroll specialist is responsible for coordinating and preparing proper compensation of district employees, ensuring appropriate deductions and accurate payroll records are maintained. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Prepare and maintain a payroll master for each employee containing payment control, wage distribution, and voluntary and statutory deductions including but not limited to federal and state taxes, PERA, TRA, group insurances, 403 (b) withholdings, garnishments and levies, and W-2’s. *Create master payroll schedule and turn around schedule to include correct dates and deductions on checks. *Ability to develop processes to validate data (employee leaves, times worked, pay docks, etc.) *Perform all data entry required to process payroll, maintain district files and to extract reports when needed. *Calculate manual payroll checks and process disbursement and/or journal entries as needed. *Prepare and process payroll deduction checks, wire transfers and complete all related reports. *Ensures compliance and prepare and balance all semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, fiscal and calendar payroll, deduction reports and 941 reports. *Calculate, balance and distribute W-2 employee forms. *Balance contracts for end of year payoffs and multiple checks. *Calculate pay amounts and process retroactive payrolls. *Coordinates payroll budget codes with Human Resources. *Respond to payroll related questions from employees and administration. *Maintain and update procedure records. *Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the school district. *Maintain necessary historical records (W-4’s, deduction authorization, direct deposit, etc.). *Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, etc.) and import/export functions of electronic processes.

Student Billing Coordinator

Mounds Park Academy is a PreK-12 independent school in Saint Paul that serves approximately 500 students from throughout the Twin Cities area. Mounds Park Academy seeks an individual that would enjoy an inclusive school setting in which they will interact with a large number of people: parents, faculty, staff, and students. This full-time Business Office role works closely with Admissions and is responsible for maintaining the student billing and financial aid databases. This role has frequent contact with parents regarding student accounts. In addition, this role is responsible for accounts payable, petty cash, and general ledger work. The position reports to the Mounds Park Academy controller. Responsibilities include: *Student Billing Monthly maintenance of TADS (tuition billing software) and manual entry of direct tuition payments and miscellaneous optional charges. Reconciliation of monthly billing, payment, refunds, and other activity related to student accounts *Financial Aid Process financial aid applications, answer applicant questions and provide the Chief Financial Officer reports for award review. Input awards into TADS. Work with families on billing arrangements and account set up. *Collections Follow up on past due accounts and work with families to minimize write-offs. *Accounts Payable Process invoices on a weekly basis; this includes matching purchase orders and packing slips to invoices and entering invoices into Accounts Payable. Research invoices that do not have proper backup. Process the credit card statement and support individuals who use the credit card program. Issue 1099s. *Petty Cash Track cash receipts and disbursements through petty cash. Support customers with cash boxes for large events.
