Leadership for Equity and Excellence The Hopkins School District is looking for an interim principal who is culturally competent and prepared to lead, support and sustain the mission of Glen Lake Elementary School. The interim principal will have the will and skill to engage and lead the staff, student, and parent communities toward eliminating the achievement gap. We are looking for an Interim Elementary School Principal who: Passionately leads and embraces the mission of high levels of achievement for students. Demonstrates capacity as a systems thinker. Maintains focus and goal-orientation to achieve results. Shows initiative and objectivity. Demonstrates the ability to think ahead, conceptualize ideas, assess situations to determine what needs to be done, and mobilize staff to accomplish desired outcomes. Defines priorities, plans systematically and effectively; and utilizes time and organizational management skills to achieve objectives. Develops a shared vision for the school by effectively engaging staff, students, and parents in its creation, and by identifying factors critical to its achievement. Acts as the key instructional leader for the school. Continuously works to improve knowledge, skills, and disposition on vital educational issues and school-wide leadership, and makes her/his learning visible to staff, students, and parents. Provides focus on strategic priorities by setting expectations for others while modeling the same professional behavior expected of others. Effectively engages and involves constituencies in the District and Site Strategic Planning processes. Develops strong and effective collaborations with other principals and district administrators to achieve school and District goals. Instructional and Organizational Leadership The Interim Glen Lake Principal is responsible for leading, managing, supervising, and evaluating the school’s educational programs. The Interim Principal has the responsibility and authority to make significant programmatic, budgetary, and staffing decisions within the framework of the school’s strategic plan, policies, and budget. The effective leadership and management of the educational programs at Glen Lake Elementary School, requires the Interim Principal to regularly assess the needs of students, and develop educational policies, programs, structures, and resources to meet the diverse needs of all students. The interim principal will: Create and sustain culturally responsive, high achieving learning environments, and lead staff to identify and systematically apply differentiated instruction and assessment that improves achievement. Define and lead implementation of a system for personalized learning that engages the learner, staff, families, and community as essential partners in supporting academic achievement and personal growth. Engage families and communities as essential partners in the academic achievement. Implement all elements of the District Strategic Plan.

Director of Northwest Passage High School
The Director is the executive, educational and instructional leader of the school. The Director, who serves as the lead administrator of the school is hired by and reports directly to the Board of Directors. The position requires general and specific responsibilities as stated by the Minnesota Board of Education,/Charter Schools, NWPHS Board of Directors, the NWPHS’ Policy and Procedures and the authorizer, Bethel University. These responsibilities are unique to this school and its population. Northwest Passage High School is a charter school located in Coon Rapids. NWPHS has 185 students on a three building campus. Students enrolled at Northwest Passage High School develop self-confidence and academic skills through participation in a small learning community, where instructors are lifelong learners who model integrity, responsibility and respect. Varied projects, field studies and inquiry-based methods give students the opportunity to develop a greater sense of the world by engaging in challenging academics, structured work experience, and service learning. Students take responsibility for their own educational plans, and graduate with the tools to make informed decisions about their future. First round interviews will be held on July 13th and July14th.
