The School Psychologist provides educational evaluations and consultation to children, parents, teachers, and staff regarding the prevention and/or interventions which impact the education of students. Specific job duties include- -Individual cognitive, academic and emotional/social assessments for students with disabilities to ensure that students meet state and federal eligibility requirements for special education services. -Assessing students in order to determine eligibility for special education services or continuing need for special education services. -Ensures that proper procedures, methods and timelines are followed in accordance with federal laws, Minnesota statutes, and other guidelines. -Consultation to special and regular education personnel on programs for students with disabilities -Assist in development of and provide continued support in students’ Individual Education Programs (IEP’s), including the development of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIP). -Participate in site-based Problem Solving Teams to develop intervention strategies and supports. -Assist with school crisis prevention and crisis intervention and recovery (PREPaRE).
