The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: -Teach dance/drama forms from various cultures. -Willingness to organize and implement dance/drama performances both during school hours and evenings. -Willingness to seek out new ideas and practices in dance/drama. -Participation in a team planning process. -Help to develop and implement program concept. -Design strong thematic, standards based units. -Design and utilize performance-based assessment strategies. -Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, community and Arts agencies to develop program. -Utilize technology to support instruction in all areas. -Develop and implement innovative methods for providing instruction to students. -Support the Minnesota Arts Standards; in dance and theatre. -Evaluate student performance in accordance with system used by school and/or District; promote student achievement; maintain required student records; make related reports to the principal as prescribed or authorized by the superintendent. -Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the academic development of the student; participate in parent teacher conferences. -Perform classroom management duties; enforce rules governing the conduct of students; take appropriate disciplinary action with students when necessary. -Continue to seek professional growth and development in the curriculum areas for which employed; attend professional development required by the District. -Perform other related duties as assigned.

A Special Education Paraprofessional’s primary function is to implement assigned tasks during the school year in conjunction with the student’s Individual Educational Plan (IEP). Under supervision, Special Education paraprofessionals perform a variety of instructional activities as directed by a licensed teacher. Responsibilities – Is familiar with the special education needs of each student as in their IEP. – Is familiar with the goals and objectives of each student as in their IEP. – Keeps all student information strictly confidential and communicates with appropriate personnel. – Assists in implementation of student’s behavior plans – Assists in implementation of IEP accommodations. – Monitors students and provides test accommodations in the testing room. – Assists individual or small groups of special education students in practicing or reviewing previously learned techniques or strategies – Enforces school rules and communicates with appropriate personnel. – Participates in or provides input for meetings when requested. – Follow all district procedures and policies for maintaining a healthy and safe environment for students and staff. – Photocopies and prepares materials as assigned. – Perform other duties as assigned in support of instructional efforts. – Responsible for the safety and well-being of students.
