Director of Alternative Learning – ALC & Pines School
*Serve as building-level administrator for alternative education programs as assigned during the regular school year as well as between regular school years. *Supervise assigned personnel, conduct annual performance appraisals and make recommendations for appropriate employment action. *Work with staff to align alternative education programs with the district’s curriculum. *Provide leadership and guidance in the development of annual goals and objectives for assigned programs. *Coordinates operations among alternative schools and/or programs for the purpose of improving student academic success and ensuring district objectives are achieved and resources are effectively utilized. *Monitors fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, related revenues are generated, expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed. *Facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of staff development activities provided in assigned areas. *Provide oversight and direction for cooperative planning with other agencies. *Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. *Oversees the management of student supervision issues, serve as a resource to staff in dealing with classroom management issues, enforce behavior expectations, and proactively process student discipline issues. *Oversee the facilitation of student reentry meetings, and effectively work with parents and other CALC and Pines School staff to implement individual student behavior plans. *Work with administration to evaluate overall effectiveness of students support services. *Coordinates the CALC and Pines School’s safety & security efforts.

Performs intermediate professional work locating, identifying and serving speech/language impaired students; preparing and maintaining student and program records; preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Student Services.
