License Required: Valid 5-12 Technology Education or 5-12 Industrial Technology license issued from the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:00 (8 hours per day), 185 days per year (1.0 FTE) start date 8/26/24. Candidates should also be available for new teacher workshop on August 19-21.

Salary:  Salary and benefits pursuant to the Chaska Education Association (CEA) Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Principal – Cottage Grove Middle School

Position Summary:
Perform instructional leadership and management of the educational program to maximize student learning under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent.   Manage, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, goals and strategic plan of the school district.  This includes instructional programs, co-curricular activities, and student management systems to ensure a safe and orderly climate, building maintenance, program evaluation, personnel management, office operations and emergency procedures.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Serve as a building instructional leader.
  • Create and maintain a school culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and personal responsibility.

  • Ensure compliance with all laws, school board policies and school district procedures.
  • Supervise the instructional programs of the school on a regular basis to ensure the use of effective instructional strategies, content and materials consistent with research on learning, student growth and development.
  • Work with staff to identify professional needs and plan, organize, and facilitate programs that improve staff effectiveness.

English Learner ( EL ) Paraprofessional

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reinforces, provides practice and reintroduces reading, math, science, language and other academic instructional subjects, concepts and lessons delivered in the classroom by licensed instructional staff.

Works with students in the classroom in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.Carries out and implements daily objectives to assist the student in learning the material and daily lessons provided by licensed instructional staff.
May provide assistance to students in daily living skills, health needs and/or hygiene needs, if required.
Adapts and modifies curriculum to assist students with special needs.
Assists in the preparation and production of instructional materials.

Monitors, assesses and supervises student behaviors to assure consistent behavioral management consistent with any student IEP or to reinforce appropriate behavior and learning within the classroom.  Implements and provides appropriate consequences for inappropriate behavior consistent with district philosophy, rules and/or individual behavioral plans.

Assists students with daily, weekly or long term assignments; reviews and reinforces concepts and skills that student(s) have not mastered; reviews subject materials to assists students prepare for exams and tests.  Provides a proper learning environment in study center and maintains classroom discipline and consequences.

Assists instructional personnel in the preparation of classrooms, daily lesson plans, and activities.Assembling classroom materials and supplies needed.
Assists in transferring and securing students in wheel chairs.
Assists in setting up assertive technology and equipment.
Transports students to and from classrooms, buses, etc.
Assists students with daily living skills or routines.
Typing tests, handouts or other materials.
Copying and duplicating materials needed for lesson plans.
Assists in correcting tests, scoring tests, recording test results, etc.
Meets with and collaborates with other instructional staff to discuss student needs and student progress.  Provides input and assists staff in identifying problems, concerns, issues or student progress.

Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School degree or GED equivalent
Must meet Highly Qualified Requirement of:
AA degree or the completion of 60 post-secondary credits in relevant subject areas, or Passing Score on ParaEducator Assessment (must meet HQ within 90 days of hire)

COMPENSATION:  $20.96 if meet highly qualified requirements at time of hire; if not highly qualified, $20.46 per hour until requirements met.

Associate Principal

We are looking for an Associate Principal for Valentine Hills Elementary.  Mounds View Public Schools is located approximately nine miles north of the downtown areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and provides instructional services for children and adult learners who live in the cities of Arden Hills, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville, Shoreview and Vadnais Heights. Mounds View is among the largest districts in Minnesota. With two kindergarten centers, six elementary schools, three middle schools and two high schools, the District serves more than 11,200 students and employs more than 1,500 staff.
