To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal.

Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.

Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
Provide appropriate feedback on work.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
Prepare required reports on students and activities.
Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare classroom for class activities.
Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.

Qualifications: Valid State of Minnesota License in Spanish
Major Job Functions; Specific Tasks/Required Knowledge, Ability and Skills: Teach sections of Spanish 1 and Spanish 2

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:  Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).(under negotiations)

Responsibilities: Position provides speech and language services and support in the areas for which employed; make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies. Implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school and/or program for which employed. Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the development of each student. The instructor will design, deliver and assess curriculum according to the district guidelines. The teacher must be willing to participate in building leadership activities and be a team player.

 

Required Qualifications:

Current MN Speech and Language Pathologist licensure required

Desired Qualifications:

Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
Considerable knowledge of the curriculum areas the teacher is responsible for instructing.
Considerable knowledge of educational philosophy, teaching methods and approaches, current researched best practices and strategies.
Considerable knowledge of students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
Considerable knowledge of multicultural, gender and disability fair curriculum concepts.
Working knowledge of instructional technologies.
Considerable skill in classroom management and organization.
Ability to effectively facilitate and/or participate in team meetings and parent meetings.

Provide service and support in the area for which employed including writing and implementing individual scholar goals and objectives, evaluating scholar performance according to the goals and objectives on the Individual  Educational Plan (IEP) used by the district, promoting scholar achievement, maintaining required scholar records, making related reports to the site/department licensed administrators as prescribed or authorized by the superintendent, maintaining contact and communications with guardians/caregivers of scholars and working with them in the development of each scholar, performing classroom management duties, enforcing district rules governing the conduct, understanding and implementing due process guidelines following state and federal rules, regulations and district policy; make appropriate and equitable use of resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school and/or program for which employed; provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning and services when applicable; work collaboratively with others.
