Minimum Requirements:

Must have a valid MN Spanish License or able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in school setting and/or previous experience working with secondary level students
  • Fluent in Spanish, both orally and written
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, community and students
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents and staff

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of students through formal and informal assessments

ESP – Special Education

Job summary:  Assist the special education teacher in the operation and function of the classroom, and to work with individual or small groups of students as directed by and under the supervision of the special education teacher.  Specifically this position will work with students in the Connect Program to implement daily interventions and assistance as planned by licensed staff.   This position will primarily work in our Connect program with ASD students.
Responsibilities and tasks include:

 

Assist in the implementation of the students’ special education instructional plan(s) including physical and behavioral management.  Specific duties are assigned by the supervising teacher based on students’ special needs.
Assist in the implementation and follow through of the students’ individual plans in all settings in which the program is delivered and as assigned by the supervising teacher.
Collect observational data about assigned student(s) in various school settings and report to supervising teacher.
Assist in the preparation, collection and maintenance of educational materials and equipment.
Assist staffings, conferences and any other special meetings as requested by supervising teacher.
Complete educational forms, reports and other student related data relevant to the individual student(s) in the special education program as directed by the special education teacher.
Any other duties deemed necessary by the team and approved by the Special Education Coordinator Special Education Supervisor.
Minimum qualifications include:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Persons employed shall have the skills needed to perform tasks and work with children, staff and parents.  Must have physical capability to lift and attend to physical needs of students as required.
Participation in district training program prior to and during employment.

General Purpose of Job: Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks and/or intervention, behavioral support and working directly and indirectly with students. These tasks will constitute the major portion of the Educational Support Professional time. Includes lunch and recess supervision; and copy work.

Responsibilities:
Assist in general classroom operational procedures such as setting up and operating audiovisual equipment, setting up physical education equipment, preparing and setting up art supplies.
Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills, e.g., math, science, English, color recognition, decision making, self-esteem building, etc.
Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art, physical education, dramatics.
Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems, e.g., separate math skill worksheet, not a part of teacher’s curriculum.
Type worksheets, tests, or various instructional material; duplicate and assemble.
Correct tests via computer. Record results in grade books.
Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.

Job Summary:  To provide in-depth secretarial/clerical support to the site administrator/front office and staff of the Osseo Education Center through management of district provided resources under the direction of the site administrator.
Osseo Education Center is looking for a candidate with diverse skills who can direct and redirect students in a confident manner; possesses strong clerical and communication skills, is comfortable greeting visitors, answering phones and fielding questions.  In addition, candidates must have a positive attitude, be willing to work as part of a team, and be flexible with needed assignments.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Provide secretarial/clerical support to the administrator and Osseo Education Center staff in the form of typing, data entry, record keeping, filing, duplication of materials, locating resources, and answering phones.
Greet visitors and answer questions/concerns for the Osseo Education Center; provide community resource information.
Provide support to and function as a liaison between building administrator, staff, students, families, and the general public.
Liaison for building and district communication.
Communicate and coordinate services with internal and external vendors.
Monitor and implement requests for all community, school, and extra-curricular requests requiring building facilities and/or equipment.
Arrange and monitor transportation for all community outings, employment, and volunteer placements.
Communicate transportation needs to Transportation Department.
Monitor site administrator calendar: arrange and schedule appointments and meetings and keep administrator updated.
Monitor attendance line; record and communicate student absences to building staff.
Monitor facilities and notify appropriate source of any equipment or special work arrangements necessary.
Update and maintain handbooks and manuals.
Assist in keeping physical asset & key inventory.

Minimum qualifications include:

Education:  High school graduate or equivalent required.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

Extensive secretarial/clerical skills, including MS office software (i.e., MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook), Google applications and database maintenance.
Extensive skills in developing and maintaining record systems.
Knowledge of district policies as they affect the general operation of the building.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of the materials and information disseminated daily.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
Ability to carry out job responsibilities independently, possess effective time management and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Native American Education Programming
Percent of Time:  45%Acts as a resource for incorporating inclusive practices and Native American content standards in K-12 classrooms, including coordinating culturally appropriate training(s) and identifying resources and content materials.
Facilitates Native American Student Leadership and Affinity Groups.
Promotes and encourages participation in after school activities.
Assists teachers, as needed, in providing individual or small group guidance and support to students to achieve academic and behavior success.
Monitors student academic needs and works collaboratively with classroom teachers to address areas where academic support is needed.
Explores and identifies system issues that can inhibit or support Native American educational student success.
Leads cultural events and activities, organizing field trips and hosting guest educators or speakers, and maintains the Native American resources, supplies and materials.
Coordinates activities that support/strengthen Native American students’ cultural identity using culturally-relevant materials and curriculum when appropriate.
Provides education to students within the district increasing their knowledge of Native American tribal languages and culture.
Support/Advocacy for Students and Families
Percent of Time:  35%
Builds relationships and establishes communication between home, school, and outside agencies in order to advocate for Native American students and provide academic and social support.
Acts as a liaison between building and district administration to address questions or concerns brought forth by students, parents, or other staff.
Assists in mediating crisis situations with school district personnel and other agencies involving situations such as school disciplinary issues, complaints, truancy, suspension, and behavioral problems.
Conducts home visits with families to gather and collect accurate information and to interpret school district policies and procedures.
Provides families with guidance and support in completing 506 forms and other relevant documentation or applications. Ensure accurate documentation, organization, and storage of 506 forms.
Provides assistance to families and students as they enroll and participate in school including enrollment paperwork and checklists, food service applications, transportation, on-line support, and health concerns, as well as other services/activities as needed and appropriate.
Encourages parents to attend and be active in both Native American Education and school/district meetings, committees, and events.
Facilitates communication between home and school in identifying special education issues of assessment, IEP planning, due process, and program implementation, and may assist with the process.
Building/District Level Support
Percent of Time:  15%Collaborates with administration on the Title VI, Achievement and Integration Plan, and Impact Aid Grants.
Supports, and/or co-leads the Native American Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC).
Provides the NAPAC with access to state and district guidance and deadlines in order to fulfill the rights and responsibilities of the group.
In collaboration with the Director of Teaching and Learning and NAPAC, guides the use of the Native American Education budget, ensuring proper and timely use of funding and resources. Includes submission of invoices and reimbursements, following monthly deadlines and requirements from the Finance Department.
Serves as a point of contact between the school district and the Minnesota Department of Education – Office of Indian Education and U.S. Department of Education – Office of Indian Education.
Works in collaboration with the Director of Teaching and Learning to provide guidance and education about the Native American Education Program to our schools and local community.
Partners with local tribes and Native American Education programs.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Teaching and Learning provides district-wide coordination and leadership in the establishment of systems for continuous improvement; curriculum evaluation; testing assessment; and student learning performance and staff development at all levels.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilites:Directs and coordinates all general education learner programming to include online and summer school options.
Oversees specialized programming such as ESL, Gifted and Talented, AVID, Federal Title Programs, Native American Education Program, Achievement and Integration, ADSIS, and District-wide equity work, regularly evaluating district and individual performance and making changes as necessary to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
Capitalizes on new and innovative strategies as they relate to curriculum, instruction and assessment.
Collaborates with and provides direction to the administrative teams in monitoring and articulating student achievement, site and program goals.
Continually reviews district programming in light of best practices to improve instruction and increase student achievement.
Oversees and coordinates all pre-K through grade 12 assessments.
Evaluates, interprets and uses testing data to improve instructional practices.
Coordinates K-12 curriculum development, implementation, review, and materials adoptions ensuring alignment throughout the District with best practices and state and federal standards.
Coordinates instructional and curricular changes, developing and implementing staff development as needed to ensure effective implementation of such.
Collaborates with the high school administration to support and direct ALC programming.
Collaborates with Special Services to coordinate, implement, and monitor multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) district-wide.
Coordinates with the Technology department to integrate technology with instructional programming.
Reports to the Board and Superintendent to set educational goals and report educational progress within the district.
Provides leadership and coordinates district and on-site committees, including the World’s Best Workforce, District Staff Development Committee, and Curriculum Advisory Committee.
Advises and collaborates with staff and the public in planning, problem-solving and coordinating educational services throughout the district based upon research, best practices, financial requirements, educational needs and district long and short range planning.
Coordinates staff development, teacher development and evaluation, and new mentor/new teaching programming.
Prepares and submits local, federal and state reports for curriculum, testing, student achievement, and staff development activities, outcomes, or results.
Plans, implements, and monitors budgets for all areas of Teaching and Learning.
Collaborates to develop and revise District policies and regulations related to Teaching and Learning for School Board approval.
Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required. Provides professional expertise and assistance to individuals, other district staff and the community concerning areas of instructional expertise/knowledge.
Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, district and departmental meetings.
Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, instructional and educational technologies.
