Responsibilities and tasks include:

Position provides instruction and support in the curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.
Implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school and/or program for which employed.
Write and implement individual student goals and objectives.
Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the development of each student.

Minimum qualifications include:

Valid Minnesota teaching license in appropriate field.

Preferred qualifications include:

Considerable knowledge of the curriculum areas the teacher is responsible for instructing.

Considerable knowledge of students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
Considerable knowledge of multicultural, gender and disability fair curriculum concepts.
Working knowledge of instructional technologies.
Considerable skill in classroom management and organization.
Ability to effectively facilitate and/or participate in team meetings and parent meetings.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Elementary School Principal – Countryside and Creek Valley Elementary Schools (2 Positions)

Edina Public Schools is seeking exceptional candidates with a proven record of success for two Elementary School Principal positions scheduled to begin on July 1, 2024 at Countryside and Creek Valley Elementary Schools. The successful candidates will provide educational leadership by implementing educational and district initiatives at the building level.  With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools’ mission, vision and core values, the Elementary School Principal is responsible for providing educational leadership within the elementary building. Responsibilities include implementing educational and district initiatives at the building level and directing, supervising, and overseeing all school operations, personnel, and activities. The Elementary Principal collaborates and works closely with other administrators, staff, students, and the public in addressing and meeting the educational needs and goals of the district, its students and families, and in performing various public relation responsibilities within the community.

Compensation: These are twelve-month positions with excellent salary and benefits packages pursuant to the Edina Administrative Council’s collective bargaining agreement.

Education Support Professional – Due Process

Job summary: Assist the special education teacher in the operation and function of the classroom, and to work with individual or small groups of students as directed by and under the supervision of the special education teacher. Facilitate due process of special education meetings and reports.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Assist in the preparation, collection and maintenance of educational materials and equipment.
Complete educational forms, reports and other student related data relevant to the individual student(s) in the special education program as directed.
Any other duties deemed necessary by the team and approved by the Student Services Coordinator.
Schedule meetings and assist staff with management of due process duties, filing, mailing notices, finalizing IEPs.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong computer skills.
Persons employed shall have the skills needed to perform tasks and work with children, staff and parents. Must have physical capability to lift and attend to physical needs of students as required.
Participation in district training program prior to and during employment.

Salary: Per Educational Support Professional contract

Work schedule: 4 hours/day; 5 days/week
