The facilities operations team is seeking an experienced facilities operations professional for our team as we enter a time of accelerated system wide facility restorations, renovations, remodeling, additions, and new construction. The Coordinator of Facilities Operations and Project Management will have a leadership role on the facility operations team and the Director, and the Assistant Director will assign Long-term Facilities Maintenance projects to the coordinator who will act as district project manager. The Building a Better Future II building bond that was recently approved is scheduled for completion on or about June 30, 2028. It is anticipated that this position will end after the completion of all referendum and LTFM projects.

Job Summary:  To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by leveraging the system’s human and facilities assets and designing maintenance and accountability systems that will promote good stewardship of those assets.

Responsibilities and tasks include:
Provide Strategic Leadership by:Aligning function with mission and core values of the organization.
Acting as a leader in district and department initiatives and strategies; attending trainings; and serving on task forces and committees including the Long-Term Facilities Maintenance (LTFM) Oversight Committee.
Developing and communicating shared vision for area of responsibility.
Planning and executing continuous improvement processes for area of responsibility; working with the Director of Facilities Operations to establish priorities for deferred maintenance projects identified in the LTFM 10-year plan.
Representing ISD 279 in the capacity of Owner’s Representative to ensure that the LTFM and capital facilities projects meet or exceed bid specifications.

Provide Performance Leadership by:Developing staff and/or individual capacity to apply technical/functional expertise for maximum impact.
Collaborating with the assistant coordinators, specialists, and stakeholders to identify, design and deliver staff training to improve the facilities operations service model.
Collaborating with the assistant coordinators, specialists, and stakeholders to screen, interview, select and make offers for facilities operations position openings.
Providing supervision to direct reports, including formative feedback and timely performance evaluations and/or demonstrating attention to quality enhancement by improving efficiencies and effectiveness in recordkeeping, workflow and compliance.
Coordinating efforts of the facilities operations management team to establish performance goals, conduct periodic performance reviews and performance assessment process, procedure and accountability for all custodial/maintenance employee groups.
Leading the work of others; delegating tasks and authority appropriately and/or establishing procedures to guide system and departmental work; monitoring and demonstrating effective decision-making strategies in order to meet project deadlines.

Demonstrate Management Skills by:Managing department resources effectively and efficiently.
Working with the custodial/maintenance management team to allocate funds to appropriate accounts to insure proper funding for all facilities operations services.
Monitoring expenditures for all associated accounts to ensure line items are trending to meet projections at the year end.
Using the facilities operations standards to design a staffing model that will address both the service needs and the budget constraints.
Working with the maintenance team to identify end-of-life equipment and make recommendations to the Director for capital equipment replacement.
Ensuring compliance with applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
Establishing processes and procedures for accountability measures in areas such as underground tanks, boiler vessels, fire safety equipment, RPZ’s, confined space, chemical application, license holders, permitting, IAQ.
Applying effective decision-making processes to problems or situations.
Collaborating with the facilities operations team and site administration to establish and maintain system-wide sustainable cleaning standards.
Working with design engineers, service providers, manufacturers, and building engineers to establish and maintain best practices for preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment.

Preferred qualifications include:

Public school district preferred.
Chief Boilers License preferred.
Certified Pool Operator License preferred.

Classroom Teacher

Exploratory teacher for the building’s AVID program (Advancement Via Individual Determination), a college and career preparation program for students in the academic middle. The AVID program proven track record in bringing out the best in students, and in closing the achievement gap. The AVID teacher must possess the vision and belief in the inherent greatness of each student at North View Middle School.

Essential Duties:

Serve as an instructional coach/facilitator.
Share instructional techniques to help staff support under achieving students.
Facilitate planning, and implementation for the AVID exploratory class.
Facilitate the planning and scheduling of college field trips, and guest speakers.
Meet and work with the principal, and Title One lead to assist in the development of AVID goals; collaboratively plan and evaluate instructional programs and procedure.
