Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Provide instruction and support in the curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district, school and/or program for which employed; maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars, working with them in the development of their scholar; design, deliver, and assess curriculum according to district guidelines; provide in-person, synchronous and asynchronous learning when applicable and work collaboratively with others. Willing to participate in district and building leadership activities.
Responsibilities and tasks include:

Implement classes for children (ages birth to kindergarten) and parents to include delivery and design of lessons that align with the curriculum and assessment practices of the Early Childhood & Family Education program.
Implement Preschool (3-4 year olds), Pre-K (4-5 year olds) classes to include delivery and design of lessons that align with the curriculum and assessment practices of the Early Childhood & Family Education program.
Teaching practices align with a multiple tiered support system with the goal to develop school readiness skills.
Teach as a home visitor and/or member of a classroom team to possibly include the following: a parent educator, Educational Support Professional (ESP) and possibly Early Childhood Special Education staff,
Provide leadership and work direction for ESP.
Maintain consistent communication with parents and work with them in the development of their child.
Maintain attractive and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Attend and contribute to program staff meetings and training.
Implement Early Childhood Developmental Screening.
Support outreach efforts.

Responsibilities and tasks include: Assist the children’s teacher in carrying out daily program by arranging equipment and materials, preparing materials, maintaining supplies and participating in various activities.
Work with students individually or in small groups on academic, motor, and social skills, e.g., math, science,  literacy, art, physical education, decision making, self-esteem, pretend play, etc.
Maintain a safe, clean and and caring environment for young children.
Observe children to prevent safety/health hazards.
Perform other duties as assigned by coordinator.
Participation in district training program prior to and during employment.

Minimum qualifications include:High School Diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children.

Knowledge, skills and abilities include: Demonstrate ability to work with young children.

Preferred qualifications include:Experience working with diverse student population
Experience working with families from low socio-economic background
Ability to adapt to various schedules and work environments

Work schedule: 17 hours/week, Monday-Thursday; position is for a variety of ECFE classes including a Tuesday evening class. All staff are expected to work one evening/week and up to two Saturday mornings a year.Bargaining Unit: Educational Support Professional
