License Required: All secondary licenses issued from the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) will be considered. Science or Agriculture License is preferred.

Major Job Functions; Specific Tasks/Required Knowledge, Ability and Skills:  The Integrated Arts Academy is an innovative 9 -12 high school that is focused on content learning with a strong culinary, visual arts and horticulture programs.  IAA Is seeking highly a motivated individual for this position in which the teacher would be part of a unique high school team that specializes in personalization and project based learning.  The science teacher would have the ability to teach a variety of courses, and provide students weekly field trips related to the area of science for hands-on experiences.

Summary:
This position requires leadership in developing vision, implementation, and planning for sustainability of our Setting IV 18-21 year old transition program for students with special education needs.  The position also requires effective collaboration with other administrators.  The Special Education Supervisor plans, organizes and manages the programming and services provided at our transition program.  The position includes supervising and supporting the licensed staff and unlicensed staff at all identified locations.
Major Areas of Accountability:

Manage and supervise staff including recruiting, screening, interviewing and hiring staff
Monitor due process procedures, program entrance and exit decisions
Evaluate program effectiveness as well as receiving necessary changes to promote effective programs for the target population including: program design and philosophy; curriculum and instructional methodology; material and technical resources; staff development activities; program evaluations; and interagency activities.
Complete performance appraisals of licensed and unlicensed staff
Collect and maintain information necessary for the completion of local, state and federal reports
Collect and maintain information necessary to determine staffing needs
Provide leadership and direction to staff with regard to conflicts between staff, parents, students and agency workers.
Direct disciplinary action to ensure a safe school environment and guard due process rights of students
Monitor budget expenditures for assigned programs
Oversee special education transportation requests and program changes for students with disabilities
Promote internal and external awareness of program services
Effectively work with district and building personnel to develop and implement strategies to achieve student and building goals.

Paraprofessional: Structured Learning Center – Learner Support

Primary duty is to coordinate the structured learning center (SLC), while supporting students’ unique behavior and learning needs.
