Grade 2 Teacher

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a valid MN Elementary Education License or able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in school setting and/or previous experience working with elementary students
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, and community
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents and staff

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of students through formal and informal assessments
  • Plan, develop and implement appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on regular basis on student progress
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Foster a community where all people are valued, respected, seen and heard
  • Inspire robust academics, critical and creative thinking and continuous personal growth
  • Create world-class learning experiences that integrate multiple perspectives
  • Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations

School Counselor

Position Start Date:  August 2023 (total full year contract is 191 days/1.03 FTE)
Days/Hours:  1.03 FTE; 7:00am – 3:30pm
Responsible To:  Building Principal

Position Purpose:  This position would work with 9-12 grade students that are in need of academic, social and emotional support. The position will include: facilitate support groups, study strategies, time management/organization, new student group, and implement interventions for struggling students. Position would coordinate academic interventions between teachers and students. Counselor must exhibit ability to manage and track multiple students’ academic progress and needs, act as a liaison between EL department, teachers, Deans, and School Counselors. This position will require attention to detail, knowledge of googledocs, and the ability to collaborate with multiple staff in the building.

License Required: K-12 School Counselor license issued from the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) is required.

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:  Benefits of employment as negotiated between District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).

Part-Time Cleaner (Multiple positions)

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Part-Time Cleaner (multiple positions) throughout our school district for the 2023-24 school year.  The hours for this position are typically 4:00 PM to 8:0 PM (4 hours per day); student contact days only.  Rate of pay is $18.21 per hour, plus shift differential.

Job Summary
This position cleans and maintains designated areas of building to ensure a clean, pleasant and safe environment for employees, students, and the general public.

Job Functions

Vacuum, mop and sweep designated areas of building.
Collect and remove all trash, shredding and recycling in assigned areas.
Clean restrooms and locker rooms as assigned.
Clean windows, doors and mirrors in entry ways and other areas as assigned.
Clean carpets, stairways and floors as assigned.
Dust furniture and equipment.
Clean and disinfect cafeteria tables, counter tops and conference room tables
Report any issues with equipment or materials to supervisor.
Lock up building or designated area as require.
Move furniture, set up for events as needed.
Follow district cleaning procedures and standard safety procedures, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Substitute for building engineer as requested.
Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.

Preschool Teacher

Job Summary
Provide a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate preschool experience for children. Guide children’s behavior in a consistent and positive manner.

Job Functions

Plan, implement, evaluate and coordinate curriculum and behavioral support with other staff.
Observe/monitor/assess/record each child’s development/behavior for reporting and progress monitoring.
Develop and maintain rapport with each child and provide positive behavior guidance to all children, plus provide for the health and safety of each child.
Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom – organized, safe and inclusive of learning centers.
Maintain and order supplies, equipment and materials as appropriate.
Plan and coordinate special events/celebrations of learning.
Develop and maintain communication with parents through daily greeting, parent info, conferences, progress reports, open houses, volunteering and events.
Provide support, direction, supervision and assistance to the assistant(s).
Respond appropriately to emergency or crisis situations.
Maintain appropriate records with the support of the assistant(s).
Maintain communication with all staff and participate as a team member.
Perform other general duties as assigned by your supervisor to accomplish the objectives of the Early Learning Program.
Participate in staff development training programs as assigned.
Attend staff, community education and district meetings as directed or necessary.

Night Supervisor/Engineer – Elementary

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Night Supervisor/Engineer (Step 5) at Kaposia Education Center.  This is a 12-month full-time position; Monday-Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM.  Rate of pay is $26.61 per hour, plus supervisory and shift differential, as indicated in the Custodial and Maintenance Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Job Summary
The Night Supervisor/Engineer performs cleaning and general maintenance tasks to provide a clean, pleasant and safe environment for employees, students, and the general public, and provides general supervision to employees who report directly to the position.

Job Functions

Conduct and supervise general cleaning for assigned areas within the building to include dusting floors, scrubbing washrooms, and locker rooms, vacuuming carpets, cleaning classrooms and offices, etc.
Provide building security, including locking doors, turning off lights and other equipment, etc.
Operate and provide maintenance to the heating and cooling equipment in the building, including thermostats and other controls in conjunction with the Head Custodial Engineer.
Provide general supervision, direction, and training to employees reporting to the position.
Complete performance evaluations on employees reporting to this position.
May perform or assist with plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, pneumatics, grounds work, glass replacement, and snow shoveling.
Set up evening events and monitors building usage.
Maintain, and is accountable for, tools and equipment available for use.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area in conjunction with other employees.
Identify items needing repair or replacement, or situations that could become a hazard throughout the district and report to Head Engineer.
Follow up outside contractors’ work to ensure completion and cleanup inside and outside.
Perform other necessary tasks as instructed, i.e. moving furniture, painting, vandalism cleanup, and cleaning.
Respond to emergency situations after regular hours as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

 

Assistant Principal – Elementary

Job Summary
Culture and develop inclusive and equitable working relationship with all students, staff, families and community; coordinate and lead programs; coordinate state testing; and focus on achievement of all students.

Job Functions

Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Responsible for assisting students in academics and behavior
Coordinate and lead programs such as BARR (Building Assets, Reducing Risks), PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports), MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) and other programs.
Monitor, analyze and communicate student achievement data by subject, grade and school and by student demographics.
Coordinate and manage after school and summer programming.
Act as School Assessment Coordinator for all state tests and provide training for proctors.
Coordinator and facilitate implementation of the student attendance policy.
Create the master schedule, coordinate student system and facilitate student registration
Facilitate re-entry meetings for suspended students
Assist with classroom observations/evaluations of teaching staff
Work closely with the principal to ensure curriculum alignment and support programs
Act as a resource for classroom teachers, assistants, and substitutes teachers
Responsible for monitoring hallways, cafeteria and building security
Coordinate and lead state required safety and security drills
Assist the principal in the hiring process of staff
Provide assistance in designing and implementing student handbook revisions
Support and promote the school district’s strategic plan.
Work to maintain open communication with staff, district personnel, parents and community
Supervise events outside the school day, including night and weekend supervision, as assigned by the principal
Assist with designing and implementing new programs that reflect the changing needs of the student population
Facilitate and serve on task forces and committees as assigned by the principal
Meet with instructional departments and serve as a liaison between departments
Promote positive change and serve as a role model for all staff and students.
Comply with all laws, school board policies and school district procedures.
Demonstrate professional, ethical and responsible behavior.
Manage staff, student and building issues when principal is off site.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance
