Reports To:  Building Principal
Compensation: Annual base salary of $110,209. Additional compensation, including Education Credit, pursuant to the Principals’ Association Master Agreement.

Major Job Functions:
The Administrative Dean is responsible for providing assistance to the Principal in the general administration and management of the building.  The Administrative Dean is the primary administrator and coordinator of the day to day student management and attendance matters.  The Administrative Dean will also assist the principal in hiring and supervising staff and in providing instructional leadership and staff development opportunities for staff.

Education/Certification Requirements/Perferences:  Must possess or be eligible for a valid license as a principal in the State of Minnesota

Experience Requirements:  Exemplary teaching and/or administrative experience (Elementary experience preferred)

Benefits:  As defined by the parameters of the Principals’ Association Master Agreement, an annual amount of $10,500 will be available for the Administrative Dean to distribute as he/she designates among benefits (health insurance, dental insurance).  The Administrative Dean must enroll in at least single health coverage. Additional benefits include:Term life insurance policy equal to $250,000.00, the employee may purchase additional coverage (accidental death and dismemberment or supplemental life.)
District contribution to Deferred Compensation Plan up to $3,900 per year
Professional Development:  District contribution of $1500 per year
Professional Association Dues:  District pays for one State and one National association
Annual performance pay if requirements are met
Ten (10) days of Personal Time off (PTO) and three (3) sick days are granted per year

Digital Communications Specialist

Position Description:
Wayzata Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a part-time digital communications specialist. This role will contribute to the district’s communications efforts by leveraging various media channels to engage and inform our diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for visual storytelling, digital communications, and an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time position with flexible working hours, approximately 20-25 hours per week. The digital communications specialist will report to the communications and community engagement manager and work closely with the entire district’s communication team.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

Video Production: The digital communications specialist will be responsible for shooting, editing, and managing video content. This includes capturing footage of events, interviews, and highlights, editing raw footage into polished videos, and ensuring video content aligns with the district’s brand guidelines. Additionally, the specialist will organize and maintain a video library to facilitate easy access and retrieval.

Social Media Management: The digital communications specialist will play a crucial role in the district’s social media presence. They will be responsible for posting engaging and relevant content across various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The digital communications specialist will also monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with the online community. Furthermore, they will utilize analytics tools to track and analyze the effectiveness of social media efforts, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Graphic Design: The digital communications specialist will create visually appealing graphics and designs to support the district’s communication initiatives. This includes designing graphics for the district website, social media posts, newsletters, presentations, and other promotional materials. The specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their communication needs and translate them into compelling visual representations.

Website Management: The digital communications specialist will assist with website editing and maintenance.

Collaboration with Schools: The digital communications specialist will work closely with individual schools within the district to provide communication support and guidance. This may involve assisting schools in developing their social media strategies, creating promotional videos or graphics for specific events or initiatives, and offering training sessions to staff on best practices for communication and media production.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
