Responsibilities:

– Assists in evaluating and communicating student behavior, maintaining student discipline and enforcing the student discipline policies

– Assists in the administration of the building including conducting performance evaluations

 

Qualifications:

– MA or Specialist Degree

– Appropriately licensed by the State of MN

– Teaching experience required

– Administrative experience preferred

Educational Assistant

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Educational Assistant at Lincoln Center Elementary School for the 2023-24 school year.  This position works 6.5 hours per day plus half hour duty-free lunch, Monday – Friday, school days only.  The rate of pay is $18.53 per hour, based on the 2021-23 Master Agreement between SSP #6 and Local No. 7312, Educational Support Professionals.  This position reports to the Principal/Assistant Principal.

Job Summary
Assist in providing instructional support and supervision of students under the direction of the classroom teacher and building administrator.

Job Functions

Provide instructional support to students in the classroom individually, or in small groups as directed by the teacher.
Assist with implementing identified curriculum under the direction of the teacher.
Monitor hallways, lunchroom, gymnasium, bathrooms, and other spaces ensuring students are adhering to school rules.
Support front desk during lunch to cover phones, checking in/out students and managing door access.
Develop and maintain positive rapport, communication and interaction with staff and students.
Maintain confidentiality and follow data privacy rules and regulations related to students and staff.
Support a positive, safe environment throughout the school building and school grounds.
Be a positive example by modeling respectful behavior and using problem-solving strategies.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families, and community members.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Demonstrate prompt, regular, and reliable attendance.

Band Teacher

Job Functions

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
Maintain knowledge and skills with IB Program changes and updates.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine priorities for their children’s social, emotional and academic growth.
Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic issues or special academic interests.
Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools. Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.
Administer standardized, formative and state mandated assessments and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.

Qualifications

K-12 German licensure, eligibility required

The successful candidate must have earned a B.A. or B.S. degree. Candidate must possess highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability work harmoniously with a wide range of students, families, and staff members. Additional demonstrated qualifications include: commitment to the equitable education of all students; creative planning and organizational skills, and experience working with and celebrating diverse learners.

Licensing Requirements

K-12 Licensure, or eligibility, is required.
