Job Description:
Forest Lake Area Schools is seeking qualified candidates to serve as Secondary Instructional Coach beginning fall 2023. This is a TOSA position that will report to the Director of Teaching & Learning and collaborate with the instructional coaching team to support licensed classroom teachers in effective instructional practices across our three secondary schools.
Responsibilities: Coach teachers in effective instructional practices through observation, modeling, co-teaching, mentoring and collaborative planning
Work with teachers individually, in PLCs and within departments or building teams to provide instructional support and professional development in research-based strategies and best practices
Provide professional development and support around standards-based instruction and digital learning
Plan and facilitate professional development around instructional strategies for both large and small groups
Work collaboratively with teachers in determining learning targets, aligning assessments, and leveraging data to inform instruction and support student learning
Provide resources, guidance, and support for departments and PLCs around interventions and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners
Establish a relationship of trust and confidentiality with teachers
Collaborate with school and district administration, teacher leaders, and teachers to support high quality instruction
Partner with the schools’ Professional Development Teams and principals to plan and facilitate professional development in effective instructional strategies and best practices
