Reports to:  Building & Grounds Director

Description:
The seasonal grounds position performs assigned duties to assist full-time staff in the Buildings & Grounds Department.  Duties include operating of a variety of district equipment.

Example of Duties:
The job duties and/or essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Perform grounds maintenance including mowing district grounds, care of flower beds and shrubs, trimming of trees
Perform ball field maintenance including dragging of fields, irrigation, mowing, etc.
Removal of trash and debris from trash bins at school district owned facilities
Safe operation of a variety of district equipment such as mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, hand tools
Drive district vehicles
Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as are apparent or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid secondary teaching license, 9 – 12 Language Arts/Communication in the State of Minnesota.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:
Candidates will be placed on the teacher contract and will receive benefits according to the CEA
contract.

Dean of Students- Middle School

Position Description:

Candidates selected to fill the role of Dean of Students at Central Middle School will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence.  In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community. The Dean of Students will provide assistance to the building principal to ensure Tier One, MTSS social skill instruction and support for all students.

Responsibilities:

Supports the emotional, social and behavioral growth of all students by leading Tier One interventions school wide and with individual students through the Wayzata Reflective Action Process (WRAP) process. The Dean must have an in-depth understanding of the District’s MTSS model and be a leader of promoting this model in their assigned buildings, including the communication of this model with families and staff.
Serves as a resource to the Building Instructional Leadership Team (BILT) by collaboratively creating and implementing a site improvement plan that addresses Tier One Interventions to improve climate and to systematically create restorative interventions for improved learning of social skills.
Facilitate professional development opportunities both in small groups and on professional development days
Responsible for the coordination and oversight of school wide implementation of assessments.

Elementary School Principal for Excelsior Elementary

Middle School Math/ADSIS Teacher .8 FTE

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a valid MN teaching licensure of 5-8 or 5-12 Mathematics or able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with intervention math and support with secondary level students in an academic setting
  • Preferred experience in math teaching secondary students
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, community and students
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents and staff

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of students through formal and informal assessments
  • Provide high quality mathematics instruction to individual students and small groups
  • Assists with identifying students for placement in intervention groups
  • Plan, develop and implement appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on regular basis on student progress
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Foster a community where all people are valued, respected, seen and heard
  • Inspire robust academics, critical and creative thinking and continuous personal growth
  • Create world-class learning experiences that integrate multiple perspectives
  • Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings or functions
  • Other job-related duties as assigned
