Responsible To: Building Principals; Special Education Director/Supervisor
Qualifications: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred. SpEd Teaching or Related Services license required, such as School Psychologist, EBD, ASD, etc. Experience working with challenging behaviors and collaborating with teams is preferred.

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment: Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).

Must hold a valid teaching license, prefer mathematics teaching license in the State of Minnesota.

Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:
Works with the principal/administrative team to plan, organize, guide, and direct the implementation of student support systems, student management, instruction, and communication.
Support the functionality of the buildings in which they work as a key member of the building leadership team. Executes building’s student management plan including procedures for restorative practices, conflict management, restitution, suspension, dismissal, and re-entry.
Ensures practices that align with culturally proficient school systems aimed at reducing the student achievement gap. Advances building efforts to create empowering learning spaces that emphasize inclusion and culturally responsive pedagogy.
Maintains records of any student disciplinary actions taken in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and District policies.
Works with the principal in leading, coordinating and facilitating crisis management procedures.
Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required. Communicates the district’s vision, mission, core values and beliefs and provides professional expertise and assistance to individuals, other district staff, and the community concerning areas of expertise/knowledge. Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, district, and departmental meetings. Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, and technologies.
