Upper School Chemistry Teacher

The Upper School has a Full-Time (100%) position open for a Chemistry teacher beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, with the responsibility of teaching Chemistry and Honors Chemistry (chemistry is taught in 10th grade).

Additionally, as part of school-wide programming, leading an advisory group twice per week and a Core Formation Experience for a week in March.

Title 1 Learning Specialist – .5 FTE

The Lower and Middle School Title 1 Learning Specialist (Teacher) will work directly with students, staff and parents to improve student achievement by providing research-based instruction, interventions and strategies to enhance academic success for students.  This role will be .5 FTE.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction for students identified as needing additional support in reading and math.
  • Use evidence-based strategies and interventions to support student learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Use and model culturally responsible strategies to promote learning.
  • Maintain weekly data on student performance.
  • Participate in data analysis to monitor student growth and adjust instruction as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Skilled at using data collection systems and data analysis to help students
  • Knowledge of research-based best practices for effective academic intervention strategies
  • Training in and experience with Singapore math curriculum strongly preferred
  • Ability to establish a positive and supportive relationship with teachers, students and parents
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to utilize technology for communication, accessibility and as an instructional tool

Special Education Teacher- HS EBD/LD-Multi-Categorical

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid special education teaching license, preference given to those with EBD/LD license with the State of Minnesota or ability to be licensed.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.

WAGES:

*Perkins and 916 facilitation
*alternative education coordination

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid Minnesota license as a secondary school principal or be in the process of completing the requirements for a license.
A minimum of one (1) year of recent successful educational leadership experience is required.
Recent successful experience at the level of assistant principal or higher is preferred.
Proven strong skills in inter-personal communications required.
Demonstrated skills in any of the following areas preferred: collaborative decision making, supervision, evaluation, curriculum development, planning and motivation.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school board may find appropriate and
acceptable.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Start Date: July 1, 2023
Salary is consistent with the current principals’ master agreement.

Responsible To:  Building Principal; Special Education Director/Supervisor
Compensation: Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA). This position falls under the Teacher Group

Qualifications: BA or BS degree in related field and Valid State of Minnesota Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC)

Major Job Functions; Specific Tasks/Required Knowledge, Ability and Skills:   Eastern Carver County Schools believes that the public school has a role in education, intervention, and prevention of chemical use and abuse. The Chemical Health Counselor works with the building administration and the counseling office to meet the social, emotional, behavioral health of students who demonstrate areas of need or exposure to chemical use or dependency. Through individual and group counseling services and outside services and supports, develops alternative solutions to support informed decision making in order for student learning to continue in a safe educational environment
