Location: Burnsville High School (Online, virtual teaching via Distance Learning Google Meet or ZOOM format)
The Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District has licensed teaching openings for the 2023-2024 Credit Recovery program.  Credit Recovery program teachers will be utilizing a combination of Edgenuity online curriculum and synchronous instruction via Google Meet or ZOOM.  9-12 Credit Recovery programming will be an Independent Study model, and the teaching schedule will be flexible to meet student needs.

Dates of 9-12 Credit Recovery programming are as follows:

Special Education Focus Teacher

Primary Responsibilities:

The licensed Special Education Lead works closely with the district’s Individualized Student Services Team to support the development and implementation of the building/program’s special education service delivery model.
The teacher serves as a resource for their special education staff in disseminating information on evidence-based instructional practices and targeted professional development.

School Psychologist/MTSS Specialist

Job Summary
Lead the implementation of a school-wide multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) model consistent with the district framework to ensure: high quality instruction and preventative interventions, assessment practices are applied across all levels of the system for a deeper understanding of each student’s needs and alignment of resources and supports necessary for each student’s academic and social-emotional success.

Conduct special education evaluations, including problem identification, assessment selection and administration, result interpretation and team eligibility decisions, and documentation according to state and federal requirements and relevant ethical guidelines. Provide support, assistance and consultation to teachers in addressing assessment needs of students who may have a disability. Provide intellectual, behavioral and occasional academic assessments. Participate in IEP meetings and facilitate communication between staff and families as necessary.

Job Functions

Conduct special education evaluations, including problem identification, assessment selection and administration, result interpretation and team eligibility decisions, and documentation according to state and federal requirements and relevant ethical guidelines
Support delivery of some special education services as specified in Individual Education Plans, by conducting individual or group intervention and consulting with general and special education colleagues
Coordinate SRT (Student Response Team/), including scheduling, record keeping, permissions, and data management,
Coordinate and implement Tier I (general education via consultation) and Tier II interventions for individual or groups of students, including appropriate assessment and progress monitoring
Analyze assessment and intervention data and develop data-based decision-making protocols across tiers of service delivery
Assist with staff training and supervision of staff providing tiered services and interventions
Assist in selection, administration, and/or interpretation of assessments (e.g., Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment data, universal screening data, etc.) to inform instruction or fulfill other school needs
Conduct analyses or research as needed to support decision-making, evaluate effectiveness of programs or interventions, etc.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance
Other duties as assigned

  • Acquire an understanding of the school’s improvement plan and goals, particularly for student achievement. Work to support and achieve those goals.
  • Participate in ongoing and regular staff, team, and individual professional development. Be open and responsive to feedback to improve teaching and increase student learning.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
