Full Time Long Term Substitute 3rd Grade teaching position is available beginning on or around November 14, 2022 at Scandia Elementary School.
Serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet as the leader of district-wide Human Resources issues and strategies.
Develop and maintain School Board policies, District protocols, and operational plans related to Human Resources that are in compliance with state and federal law and are consistent with the District’s vision and mission.
Oversee the recruitment, selection, and orientation process for all new District employees.
Serve as the District’s leader in all employee relations and labor relations issues.
Represent the School Board as the Chief Negotiator in the collective bargaining process with principals, teachers, paraprofessionals, office assistants, technology professionals, nutrition services and custodian/maintenance employees.
Develop and complete mutual commitments tied directly to District goals.
Ensure staff performance by overseeing the District’s performance appraisal systems and process.
Analyze staffing needs to ensure optimal staffing levels and assignments District-wide.
Supervise the student teacher program and teacher exchange programs including university partnerships.
Oversee the District’s personnel records and files.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Description: ISD 191 is a suburban Minneapolis system of 8,500 students comprised of the communities of Burnsville, Eagan, and Savage. The District is seeking a high quality, innovative educational leader for the position of Interim Athletic Director. District 191’s dynamic leadership team is highly committed to working each day to align the work of adults throughout our system, and within our community, around improving the learning of each of our students. Provide oversight in the planning, development, marketing, and administration of the District athletic program and school activity program. Coordinate, schedule, review, supervise and manage all District co-curricular athletics for students in grades 7-12 and all co-curricular activities for students in grades 10-12.
Elementary Classroom Teacher: Grade 1 Long Term Substitute – McAuliffe Elementary
Approximate Dates: November 16, 2022 to February 3, 2023
There are 5 sections of first grade. The team plans lessons together and collaborates to design learning experiences.
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Essential FunctionsDevelops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the c school system.
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school’s standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.
Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Qualifications ProfileCertification/License:
[State] State Certification as an Elementary Teacher
[State] State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
EducationBachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Masters Degree in related area preferred.

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels a plus.
