FTE:  1.0 Hours: 7:15 am – 3:15 pm
Responsible To:  Building Principals; Special Education Director/Supervisor
Qualifications: Valid State of Minnesota License in Special Education K-12 in any disability area, ABS or EBD preferred
Major Job Functions; Specific Tasks/Required Knowledge, Ability and Skills: This is a fulltime position in Special Education  see attachment

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:  Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).

Position Dates:  July 1, 2023
Hours/Days:  8 hours day Monday – Friday (260 day contract from July 1 – June 30)
Responsible To:  Director of Community Education and the Director of Special Education
Position Purpose:  Provide leadership and coordination of Special Education Services to infants and children of pre-school age; as well as,support the daily operations and coordination of the Early Learning programs and services within the Community Education
Department. Plan and develop systems and partnerships that improve the quality and efficiency of the department,keeping it on the cutting edge.

Qualifications/Experience: Minnesota Teacher License
Director of Special Education License and/or Administrative License
5 + years of supervising Community Education programs and staff within the programs/or similar related experience
Experience and knowledge in working with diverse and underserved populations
Experience in day-to-day program operations.
Experience in budget management.

Salary:  $142,385  (260 day contract from July 1 – June 30)

Benefits of Employment as of July 1, 2023: This is aa benefit eligible position as negotiated with Non-Aligned Coordinators, Managers and Supervisors and District 112.  This position is not eligible for overtime or comp time.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a valid MN Middle School Theatre Arts license or able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board, and/or equivalent LETRS training.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in school setting and/or previous experience working with secondary level students
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, and community
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents and staff

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of students through formal and informal assessments
  • Plan, develop and implement appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on regular basis on student progress
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Foster a community where all people are valued, respected, seen and heard
  • Inspire robust academics, critical and creative thinking and continuous personal growth
  • Create world-class learning experiences that integrate multiple perspectives
  • Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings or functions
