The Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District has licensed teaching openings for the 2022-2023 Credit Recovery program. Credit Recovery program teachers will be utilizing a combination of Edgenuity online curriculum and synchronous instruction via Google Meet or ZOOM. 9-12 Credit Recovery programming will be an Independent Study model, and the teaching schedule will be flexible to meet student needs.
Dates of 9-12 Credit Recovery programming are as follows:

Exciting opportunity to work part time (.50 FTE), flexible schedule. Highly qualified Behavior Intervention Specialist with knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals, groups and systems through the application of positive behavior supports.
The Behavior Specialist helps coordinate Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plan that address students’ inappropriate behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more academically successful. Behavior Intervention Specialist also provides classroom and school-wide behavior management strategies.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supervision of students indoors and/or out of doors, tutoring students under the direct supervision of a teacher, assisting students with hygiene needs, facilitating behavioral redirection and intervention, physically transferring students and assisting with individual instruction.

Floating Sub Teacher
Floating Daily Sub – Middle School – Full Year (22-23 School Year) (2 Positions)
This position will be filling in as needed in various classrooms with primary assignment at the middle school. Based on need, may be assigned to other buildings/grade levels within the district. Based on need, may be assigned to teach during scheduled prep of absent teacher.
Work Days: Working year anticipated to be 171 days (school days); may be scheduled additional work days for professional development purposes as determined appropriate.
Rate of Pay: $200 per day (not benefit eligible)
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Essential FunctionsDelivers classroom instruction or interventions according to curriculum and/or plan guidelines by implementing instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in a meaningful learning experience and adhere to the District philosophy and vision.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the c school system.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school’s standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.
Administers standardized tests in accordance with District testing programs.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Qualifications ProfileState Certification as an Elementary and/or Secondary Teacher
EducationBachelors from an accredited college or university in Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Masters Degree in related area preferred.
Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels a plus.
