SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER- Center-based- Centennial Elementary
1.0 FTE Starting        August 21, 2023
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a special education teaching license in the State of Minnesota. Preferred licenses are ABS or EBD or eligible for tiered license.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:
Candidates will be placed on the teacher contract and will receive benefits according to the CEA
contract.

Position: Assistant Coach – Boys Varsity Tennis

Work Schedule: 3:00pm – 6:30 (Will be dependent on game and practice schedules)

Start Date: March 20, 2023- ASAP

Compensation: Per Schedule B of the Centennial Teachers Contract and/or Booster Compensation as agreed upon

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Arts Degree
• Previous tennis coaching experience at the youth, high school, or collegiate level
• Excellent communication skills when dealing with students, staff and community.

Responsibilities:
Work in partnership with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure alignment of the Centennial High School Boys Tennis program vision and mission as a whole.
• Hold organizational meetings for returning and new team members and encourage student participation
• Assess skills of student-athletes and determines team selections, in partnership with other coaches
• Schedules and organizes regular practice schedules to provide both individual and team development at all levels
• Coach and instruct students, individually and in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, techniques, and tactics of the game
• Observe students, during games and practice to determine the needs for individual and/or team improvement
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and always provides proper supervision of team members
• Monitor the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met
• Follow established procedures in the event of an injury
• Clear communication with parents/guardians providing program information
• Follow state, sectional, and school district bylaws and policies as it pertains to governance of the program
• Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials, and spectators set forth by the standards of the MSHSL and Centennial School District
• Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities while creating a welcoming environment for coaches and student-athletes at all levels
• Ensure adherence toward the required MSHSL training and education for self and each member of the coaching staff
• Provide opportunities for student-athlete participation in off-season clinics, camps, and program activities

Position
Preschool Teacher    – 8:15 am – 4:15 pm
1.0 FTE    – Starting August 2023

Provide high-quality early childhood education to children in our full-day Centennial Preschool program. Applicants should demonstrate a love for teaching, passion for serving early childhood students and families, and ability to successfully communicate with parents and fellow staff members.

Reports To: School Readiness Preschool Coordinator

Job Description and Performance Responsibilities
1. Using district and program instructional procedures, provide preschool education to children in the assigned classroom. This includes implementation of social-emotional strategies and supports, assessment, curriculum, and instruction
2. Attend professional development provided by the district and program, including workshops, presentations, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and Professional Learning Communities; implement the learning in instructional practice
3. Develop strong relationships with children to promote learning and partnerships with parents/caregivers to promote family engagement; conduct parent-teacher conferences and on-going communication with families
4. Collaborate with colleagues in a variety of ways, including planning instruction and collaborative teaching in an inclusive setting
5. Direct and delegate paraprofessionals in supporting the classroom
6. Complete and submit all required program records, assessments, and data according to timelines; record children’s skills in areas of language, physical, social, and emotional development
7. Promote a positive image of Centennial Schools and the Centennial Preschool program and
contribute to a positive, respectful, professional working environment
8. Demonstrate regular attendance, arrive on time, and follow assigned work schedule correctly
9. Provide a safe, nurturing educational environment for children, including those with special needs
10. Collaborate with parent educators who plan and implement parent education opportunities for
families
11. Plan field trips and on-site activities throughout the year
12. Collaborate with district lead and kindergarten teachers to ensure pre-K and K alignment
13. Meet with the supervisor on a regular basis/as needed to discuss curriculum plans, classroom
needs, etc.
14. Participate in staff meetings.
15. Assists in other capacities as determined by the supervisor and/or director.

Required Qualifications
• Holds current, valid Minnesota Teaching License in early childhood, pre-kindergarten, or
preschool
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child
and Family Studies, or other programs of similar focus and content
• Holds a current certification in First Aid and Child CPR, or is willing to obtain before they start
the position
• Has knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood care
• Demonstrates successful skills in organization, verbal and written communication, and working
with children and families of diverse backgrounds
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of
programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
Preferred Qualifications
• A minimum of one year experience in an preschool/early childhood classroom
• Experience working in inclusive settings
• Training and experience in early childhood evidence-based practices.
• Knowledge of the school district
• Knowledge of Google Drive
• Knowledge of Creative Curriculum for Preschool, the DRDP assessment tool, IGDIs assessment
tool, and/or Pyramid Model framework
Salary and Benefits: Salary according to the Centennial Kids Club contract. Prorated benefits.
