Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinator position is part of the district School Improvement and Student Achievement (SISA) team supporting PK-12+ staff, students, and families through development and implementation of curriculum, instruction and assessment that is rigorous and culturally proficient. SISA team works collaboratively with building and district administration to support school improvement plans. Key areas of responsibility include:
- Program Leadership: faciliate communication among sites to address: solutions to common problems, effective instruction activities and materials, scheduling to best address needs, adapting programming to address students new to country.
- Language Aquisition Curriculum Review and Development: faciliate curriculum development processes for all grade levels. Lead English language learner teachers in develoment and implementation of program goals.
- Research and Measurement: collect data for state and feral reports and assist in reporting processes. Review and analyze ESL testing information. Monitor student achievement.
- Assessment: work collaboratively with district assessment coordinator to administer state required screening and language acquisition assessments.
- Professional Development: support and coach staff in implementation of new curriculum and instruction; facilitate new teacher orientation.
