10TH GRADE FOOTBALL- HEAD COACH

POSITION: 10th Grade Football- Head Coach
Work Schedule: 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM (will be dependent on match and practice schedules)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Compensation: Per schedule B of the Centennial Teachers Contract
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous and positive football coaching experience at the youth, high school, or collegiate level with an emphasis and focus on defensive schemes and tactics
• Excellent communication skills when dealing with students, staff and community
Responsibilities:
• Hold organizational meetings for returning and new team members and encourage student participation
• Assess skills of student-athletes and determines team selections, in partnership with other coaches
• Schedules and organizes regular practice schedules to provide both individual and team development at all levels.
• Coach and instruct students, individually and in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, techniques, and tactics of the game.
• Observe students during games and practice to determine needs for individual and/or team improvement
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and always provides proper supervision of team members
• Monitor the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met
• Follow established procedures in the event of an injury
• Clear communication with parents/guardians providing program information
• Follow state, sectional, and school district bylaws and policies as it pertains to governance of the program
• Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials, spectators set forth by the standards of the MSHSL and Centennial School District
• Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities while creating a welcoming environment for coaches and student-athletes at all levels
• Ensure adherence toward the required MSHSL training and education for self and each member of the coaching staff
• Provide opportunities for student-athlete participation in off-season clinics, camps, and program activities

Qualifications:
• High school graduate, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous and positive tennis coaching experience at the club, high school level or collegiate level
• Must possess and display excellent human relations skills when dealing with students, staff, and community.
Responsibilities:
• Provide support to coach tennis team and participate in carious tennis tournaments.
• Train and counsel students to improve physical, social, and intellectual behavior of all students
• Administer and evaluate team physical talent through quality coaching and teaching teamwork principals
• Plan and administer a variety of training sessions for team members through proper planning
• Provide professional training to student team members and participate in various competitive games
• Assist in maintaining and evaluating all of the equipment inventories and provide regular updates
• Ensure that team members and matches are in compliance with MSHSL and Centennial School District policies and procedures.
• Adherence to conference, state, and school district policies and bylaws
