The Department Chair is a member of the University faculty and serves as the administrative and academic leader of the department. The Chair carries out the mission, vision, and goals of the University through the implementation of the department’s strategic plan, and actions.
The Chair is a year-round administrator and is a faculty member with teaching workload. The Chair is responsible for leading the faculty, staff, and students in the department; teaching in the Educational Doctorate program; serving on dissertation committees; and has a commitment to scholarship and service to the Church and the community. The Chair enacts strategies to address anticipated enrollment growth in the Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) and Educational Doctorate (Ed.D.) programs.
Education and Experience
- Terminal Degree: Required
- Preferred experience teaching doctoral level courses in technology-mediated online formats
- Preferred experience as a senior level leader
- Preferred record of research and publication in educational leadership
- Preferred Experience chairing and advising doctoral dissertations
