Elementary Executive Director of Education

Position Summary
At PACT, the Elementary Executive Director of Education is more than a school leader and manager. They are the heartbeat of the Elementary program, with a designed focus on helping students by ensuring high levels of academic achievement by creating opportunities for a bright future.

The Elementary Executive Director of Education will be responsible for the following areas in grades K-5: instructional leadership, programming, discipline and student behavior, student support, advising, fostering a mentorship at all levels, making recommendations to the PACT School Board of Directors, and overall effective operation of the Elementary school. In addition, this position serves under the policy direction of the PACT School Board of Directors and in accordance with federal and state laws.

The ideal candidate is a leader with a proven track record of excellence in school leadership and management and is committed to leading with determination, integrity, and purpose. The Elementary Executive Director of Education will work closely and collaborate with the Secondary  Executive Director of Education and the Executive Director of Operations.

Location and Community

Located in Ramsey, Minnesota, PACT is a responsive, community-based K-12 public charter school built on a committed partnership between parents, students, and teachers. Together we are striving to achieve strong moral character and excellence in education. The teachers, administration, and students’ parents are the sole entity operating the school, and in a working partnership, they determine the curriculum, schedules, and programs. PACT focuses on core academics to prepare students for college and lifelong learning.

PACT’s campus is located in the 420-acre COR Development near a park, amphitheater, and creek. Many parks and an extensive trail system are readily accessible and connected by a network of trails that link The COR to the regional parks and trail system.

PACT is expanding to a second location in 2023, a few miles north of the current location near Central Park in Ramsey. The site is filled with beautiful landscapes, and current plans are for the school to be for Secondary students in grades 6-12. Grade 6 will have their wing, and then there will be a middle and high school at this location. Plans for an auditorium, football field, and track are part of the exciting plans for this location.

Elementary students (K-5) will remain in the current PACT building, and there are plans for some remodeling.

Both locations will allow PACT to double from 670 total students K-12 to over 1200 by 2028.

Facilities and Athletics Coordinator

Title: Facilities and Athletics Coordinator

Qualifications:
 BA degree in Community Education, Education, Recreation or related field, or experience and training.
 Knowledge of and commitment to Centennial schools mission and vision.
 Demonstrated customer and human relations skills
 Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
 Skill in identifying and responding to community needs and concerns.
 Ability to identify and interact with patrons of all ages and to partner with school district staff and community organizations.

 Demonstrated writing, planning and organizational skills.

Reports to: Director of Community Education

Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Community Education, the incumbent develops, evaluates, organizes, and administers youth athletic programs and district facility use. The incumbent will enforce and upgrade quality standards, supervise and train staff, coordinate programs, equipment needs, oversee district and community use of school district facilities and equipment, and maintain positive public relations.

Performance Responsibilities:
• Promote and communicate a positive image of Centennial Schools and the Community Education department with internal and external customers.
• Works with local athletic groups and high school activities department to identify community athletic and facility needs and create a vision for community athletic programs.
• Coordinate and administer the proper scheduling of district facilities (gyms, fields, classrooms, etc.) for district and community programs per the district’s facility use policy.
• Develop, plan, organize, implement and coordinate Community Education athletic programs, camps and clinics which includes keeping current with programs, hiring instructors, setting instructor wages and class fees, monitoring a budget, purchasing inventory and handling personnel issues.
• Develop and manage procedures to assure compliance for optimal and responsible facility usage.
• Work with facility schedulers (internal and external) to provide detailed support to permit holders, custodians, administrators, support staff, teachers and other stakeholders.
• Provides excellent customer services and responds to inquiries and complaints.
• Recruit, interview, select, schedule, train, supervise and evaluate site supervisors. Plan and conduct regular training. Develop/maintain site supervisor handbook.
• Plan and manage facilities budget. Recommend changes in fee structure and board policy to ensure budget stability and program self-sufficiency.
• With Community Education Coordinators, assure appropriate equipment is available in spaces, maintain its upkeep and enhance when needed. This depends on partnerships with district staff who share the space/equipment, technology staff who coordinate equipment upkeep, and custodial staff.
• Assist staff, outside facility user groups, participants, and Director in problem-solving, collaborating, scheduling and maintaining open lines of communication within the schools and the district.
• Schedule building usage, arrange for use of equipment, key pick up, coordinate user needs with custodial staff and site supervisors.
• Coordinate billing for user groups.
• Work with principals, building secretaries, activities directors, head custodians and other district staff on facility use issues.
• Attend educational meetings, seminars, and workshops.
• Work with summer and fall athletic leagues on scheduling fields, including the turf stadium, and summer field grooming needs.
• Assist in working with Community Education Advisory Council.
• Perform other related functions as assigned by the Director or other designated representative.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
Evaluation Coordinator: Director of Community Education

8 hours per day. 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Hours can include some nights and weekends.
Start date: July 18, 2022.

WAGES:
Salary $25 – $26 per hour. Benefits include health, dental, vacation, and sick time.

Special Education Paraprofessional (1.0 FTE, Grades 9-12)

Basic Function of the Position:
The Special Education Paraprofessional’s primary function is to implement assigned tasks during the school year in conjunction with the student’s Individual Educational Plan (IEP).  Under supervision, Special Education paraprofessionals perform a variety of instructional activities as directed by a licensed teacher.

Reports to: Director of Special Education

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Is familiar with the special education needs of each student as noted in the student’s IEP.
  • Is familiar with the goals and objectives of each student as noted in the student’s IEP.
  • Keeps all student information strictly confidential and communicates with appropriate personnel.
  • Follows assigned daily schedule.
  • Communicates with special education teacher if assigned student is absent, or no students will be in the testing room to receive an alternate classroom assignment.
  • Assists in implementation of students’ behavior plans.
  • Assists in implementation of IEP accommodations.
  • Monitors students and provides test accommodations in the testing room.
  • Assists individual or small groups of special education students in practicing or reviewing previously learned techniques or strategies.
  • Enforces school rules and communicates with appropriate personnel. This includes requiring special education students to use the stairs and not the elevator, unless elevator use is specified as an accommodation in the IEP.
  • Participates in or provides input for meetings when requested.
  • Follow all district procedures and policies for maintaining a healthy and safe environment for students and staff.
  • Photocopies and prepares materials as assigned.
  • Behave and speak in a professional manner at all times.
  • Follow district standards in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of instructional efforts.

1.0 FTE – Rice Lake Elementary- Starting August 22, 2022
183 Work days                 8 AM – 4 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid elementary education- K-6 teaching license in the State of Minnesota.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:
Candidates will be placed on the teacher contract and will receive benefits according to the CEA contract.
