Professional Development Strategist
General Summary/Purpose of Job:
The Professional Development Coordinator will coordinate, develop, present and nurture professional development opportunities for Metropolitan Educational Services Cooperative Unit (Metro ECSU) members and associate members so school professionals can learn “cutting edge” practices in student learning and school leadership. The Professional Development Coordinator will also provide periodic professional development for Metro ECSU staff. The Professional Development Coordinator will be a member of Metro ECSU’s leadership team and collaborate with the leaders in Metro ECSU and Minnesota Service Cooperative Education Committee.

The Professional Development Strategist will…

Identify Metro ECSU’s Members Professional Development Needs
Coordinate with school districts to identify professional development needs of the staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, custodians, and teacher coaches.
Identify ECSU Staff Professional Development Needs
Work collaboratively with Metro ECSU staff members and leaders to meet the professional development of ECSU staff.
Partner with Minnesota Department of Education and Regional Leaders (MSC)Participate in the planning and delivery of professional development of regional initiatives.
Function as the key contact with Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and Minnesota Service Cooperative Education Committee to support statewide and regional professional development initiatives.
Create and Oversee the planning of Professional Development Plan for Metro ECSU DistrictsOversee all Metro ECSU professional development offered to member districts, including but not limited to teacher, paraprofessional, and administrative professionals.
Ensure strategies are embedded in all Metro ECSU professional development that supports creating equitable classrooms and schools.
Develop long and short-range goals, professional development plan and calendar for Metro ECSU members and associate members.
Ensure ECSU’s professional development activities has a focus on research-based practices that improve student learning and engagement.
Plan and coordinate professional development that enhances school staff knowledge and skills in using technology and digital learning and curriculum.
Lead ECSU support staff in the promotion and marketing of Metro ECSUs professional development offerings.
Deliver Professional Development Related to the Strategist’s ExpertiseDevelop and deliver directly professional development to member and associate members.
Educate ECSU Staff on current trends in professional development.
Deliver professional development that builds knowledge and skills to build relationships with students and families from other cultures, so students feel welcomed and supported by their teacher and school.
Research Presenters that Offer Professional Development to Support Member Needs
Maintain a database of professional development vendors and presenters; coordinate and contract with them to deliver professional development to Metro ECSU members and associate members
Build revenue and monitor expenses.
Evaluate and Adjusts Plan Accordingly
Develop a continuous improvement plan that regularly evaluates Metro ECSUs professional development

Establish and nurture relationships with staff members of Metro ECSU districts

Adminstrative Assistant- Data Mgmt. and Special Projects

POSITION:
Administrative Assistant – High School – West Building – 8 hours per day – 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM
204 work days per year (includes 9 paid holidays) – beginning August, 2022.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Special Projects role
Data Management working with the following: STAR, MCCC, NCAA, and Tech prep reporting
Cashier management and Activities Office support.
May greet visitors, determines their needs, and directs or escorts them to the appropriate person.
Maintains an effective communications retrieval system.
Maintains and monitors the release of student records.
Performs such other tasks consistent with the position as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Post high school training required with business and finance experience preferred.
Successful experience in an office setting required.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all school dealings.
Proven success in keyboarding and computer software required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work as a positive contributing member of an office team.
Proven, successful experience working with minimal supervision accompanied by successful problem solving skills.
Proven, successful experience relating well to school-aged youth as well as to adults.
Ability to multi-task in a high energy environment.

WAGES/BENEFITS:
As per the current Administrative Assistant/Clerical master agreement. Paid benefit package.

Director of Business Services

Edina Public Schools is seeking a progressive and collaborative-minded professional for the position of Director of Business Services.  With the focus to support and advance the school district’s mission, vision, and core values, the Director of Business Services directs, develops, and provides leadership for business services across the district, including the Controller, Director of Buildings and Grounds, Supervisor of Transportation, and the Director of Food Service (contracted service).

 

Essential Duties of the Position Include:

Financial Affairs: Evaluates the operation and maintenance of district accounting programs to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting procedures and effective use of available time, money, and human resources with the controller. Develops long-range financial planning. Formulates revenue, expense, enrollment and long-range financial projections. Directs budget assumptions, processes, and procedures and oversees a system of budget control.

Buildings and Grounds: Directs and evaluates, with the Director of Buildings and Grounds, the operation and maintenance of school plan and grounds. Coordinates long-range facilities planning, including new construction, remodeling of existing facilities, and future alternative uses.

Food Service: Develops specifications for bidding of food services and coordinates team analysis of bids from contractors. Directs and evaluates the food services contracted program.

Transportation: Directs and evaluations the Supervisor of Transportation and transportation staff, the operation and maintenance of school transportation and contracted transportation for special education and out of district students. Coordinates bidding process for contractual transportation services, contractual arrangements for transportation of resident students attending nonpublic schools out of the district. Coordinates the fleet insurance program.

Personnel: Interprets and administers employment agreement provisions for all employees responsible to the Director of Business Services. Coordinates the personnel insurance program for worker’s compensation, long-term disability and life insurance. Oversees the tax-sheltered annuity program. Recruit and hire staff, performance annual evaluations and assist staff with establishing development goals.

Principal – Highlands Elementary School

Business Assistant

The business assistant is accountable for the financial and human resources document processing at Math and Science Academy and works in partnership with MSA’s contracted business management services. Maintains accurate, updated and complete high school finance records required to support budget development, budget management and financial reporting in compliance with District, State and Federal policies and regulations.  Approves all department and student activity budget expenditures, including the purchase of equipment, textbooks and supply materials.  Works closely with the Executive Director’s Assistant on employment records and a variety of school events and activities including, but not necessarily limited to staff committees, graduation, fundraisers, staff events, sub finder system and payroll processing.
