Licensed Teacher Continuous Substitute

The Licensed Continuous Elementary Building Substitute Teacher will be providing classroom instruction out of multiple classrooms.  

General Purpose of Job: To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. In the absence of the classroom teacher, the substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment.

Responsibilities: The substitute teacher will be assigned to only one elementary building to conduct assigned classes at the times scheduled; follow system policies and regulations concerning student conduct and discipline; follow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, student records, parents and colleagues.

Demonstrate professional practices in teaching:

  • Model correct use of oral and written language
  • Follow teacher lesson plans
  • Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students
  • Encourage student progress.

Kids’ Company Coordinator

Coordinate, manage and supervise the staff, systems and operations of the district wide school age care programs. Ensure that all program sites provide safe, nurturing, and quality services to meet the needs of students and families.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:15 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.

The early childhood teacher develops materials and lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, and evaluates and assesses both instructional materials and student performance.

Position Days/Hours:  Student contact days; 7:25am – 2:40pm; 6.75 paid hrs/day
Banded/Graded:  B-2-2 (Tier 6)
Salary:  $22.53/hr (under negotiations)
Responsible To:  Building Principal/Specialized Education Supervisor

Major Job Functions/Specific Tasks/Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: See attached.The signing paraprofessional’s primary role as a member of the educational team is to facilitate communication between D/HH students and classroom teachers, peers and other school staff including providing access to communication occurring in all educational environments, and language modeling for students. The language facilitator will work closely with the classroom teacher, DHH teacher, and speech/language pathologist.

Benefits of Employment as of July 1, 2021:  Eligible for benefits as negotiated between Student Support Staff (MSEA Association) and District 112.  This position is eligible for overtime and comp time.
