Position Purpose: Provide early childhood education to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Responsible To: Community Education Supervisor
Licensure: Valid State of Minnesota Licensure in Early Childhood Education

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment: Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association. (CEA)
Calendar will reflect 1332 work hours. Teachers new to the district must be available to attend New Teacher Workshop on 8/23/22 – 8/25/22.
Background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supervision of students indoors and/or out of doors, tutoring students under the direct supervision of a teacher, general classroom clerical support, facilitating behavioral redirection and intervention. Speech Language Pathologist

The Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) District is seeking applicants to join our district as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the upcoming school year. BCCS is looking for applicants driven to uphold our Mission: To become a justice-center school community who fuels the unique genius of each student. This position starts in August 2022 and although it is a district-wide position, the current assignment will be working with grades 6-12.

Essential Job Responsibilities: 

· Be part of our school community to support, encourage, and work alongside our students, families, and school staff.

· Provide therapeutic intervention for students with speech/language, processing, and social language disorders. This includes both direct and indirect services.

· Work with students exhibiting a full range of communication disorders, including those involving language, articulation, fluency, voice/ resonance, and swallowing.

· Address personal, social/ emotional, academic, and vocational needs that have an impact on the attainment of educational goals.

· Offer assistance in addressing linguistic and metalinguistic foundations in curriculum learning for students with disabilities, as well as other learners who are at risk or struggle in school settings.

· Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. activity logs, correspondence, memos, treatment plans, Medicaid billings, reports.

· Prepares a wide variety of required documentation, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.

· Provides speech and language therapy to students for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success.

· Provides quality culturally competent services.

· Encourages students to think independently, develop and express original ideas.

· Evaluates student progress; maintains appropriate records; prepares progress reports.

· Communicates with students, student counselors, and parents/guardians through conferences and other means.

· Maintains professional competence through in-service education and self-selected professional books and instructional materials.

· Selects and requisitions books and instructional materials.

· Participates in school and district committees, faculty committees, and student activity sponsorship as required.

· Attends meetings and training sessions as required.

· Other duties as assigned.

Summary: With the support of a licensed teacher, Multi-Subject K-12 Tutors will support students in grades K-12 with their math, science, writing, and PLTW homework needs. Tutors will meet with 1-2 students at a time to guide them through homework completion and help to increase their self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and sense of belonging and community.
