Elementary Principal (K-5)

DESCRIPTION: Elementary Principal – Centennial Elementary – Grades K- 5 – 223 days/year. Position to start July 1, 2022.

QUALIFICATIONS: Experienced as a successful educational leader.  Currently licensed or able to obtain a Minnesota administrative license for school principal.

➢ Strive for continuous improvement of instruction. Centennial principals provide clear vision for implementation of instruction. They support and retain teachers who continually enhance their pedagogical skills through reflection and professional growth plans. They ensure that teachers are provided clear, ongoing evaluations reviewing strengths and weaknesses based on multiple sources of data consistent with student achievement. They encourage, embrace, and assist innovation in teaching practices. Centennial principals know, understand, and apply a four-domain approach (planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction and professional responsibility- Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching) in a fair, reliable and consistent manner.
➢ Use a data-driven focus on student achievement. Centennial principals ensure that clear and measurable goals are established to improve overall student achievement. They
direct and support analysis, interpretation, and regular use of data to monitor progress toward school goals. Practices and interventions are in place to help all students meet individual achievement and growth.
➢ Create a positive school climate. Centennial principals are recognized as the school leader who continually improves his or her professional practice. They build trust and respect in every member of the school community creating a welcoming, positive, solution-oriented, ‘no-blame,’ and professional climate. The environment created by the principal is also safe and orderly.
➢ Cultivate cooperation and collaboration. Centennial principals ensure that teachers have formal roles in the decision-making process. They provide teachers the opportunity to: discuss school goals, design strategies to achieve goals, participate in Professional Learning Communities and provide professional development aligned to the school’s shared mission. Centennial principals are accessible to staff, students, and parents. They reflect on their own practice and actively seek feedback on their work.
➢ Member of District Administrative Leadership Team. Centennial principals will work in a collegial manner with other district administrators, including principals, directors, supervisors, Superintendent, and other administrators in the district. Centennial Principals will be part of the Executive Cabinet Team and will meet regularly to collaborate and work closely with district administration in matters impacting the district as a whole; participates in district wide decision making, committees and meetings to provide input, analysis, recommendation and assist in the implementation of district wide initiatives concerning staff development, curriculum, and programs.

Assistant Football Coach

POSITION:
Assistant Football Coach (Level TBD) –Beginning August 15, 2022

QUALIFICATIONS:
Based on experience, this coach will either coach 9th or 10th grade team
Start and end times based on practice and game schedule.
Total number of days dependent upon advancing in sections/state.

This position is responsible for assisting the head varsity football coach at Centennial High School. The assistant helps with conducting practices and instructs student athletes in the sport of football including strategies and techniques, all while making their education a top priority. Area of focus is lower-level football.

1. Assist in the coordination and supervision of 9th or 10th grade football team (as assigned)
2. Assists the head coach with instruction of the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of football.
3. Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach.
5. Ensure that all athletic activities conform to MSHSL guidelines.
6. Communicate effectively with all members of the program.
8. Support the value of an education.
9. Support the philosophy and vision of Centennial High School athletics.
10. Requires some travel within the metro.
Such alternatives to the above as the Activities Director may find appropriate and acceptable.
