The Continuous Improvement and Innovation Coach is a key teacher leadership role, partnering with the principal and innovative and personalized learning coordinator/specialist to continuously align the work of staff around designing engaging learning experiences so that each student demonstrates mastery of academic and life competencies. This is accomplished by working with teachers to enhance their individual and collective practice in the pursuit of improving student learning.
Roles and responsibilities include: Provide personalized coaching and support of teachers in their work with a diverse group of students; create conditions where all staff feel valued, competent, and have a sense of belonging, leading to increased teacher efficacy; partner with schools to implement effective schoolwide embedded professional learning, consistent with beliefs and practices within the Spring Lake Park learning community framework to align the work of staff throughout the system; conference with teachers on a regular basis to reflect on and identify next actions around feedback and learning from observations, progress with professional practice goals, student engagement, and student learning results; meet with professional learning communities to provide support and specific, meaningful feedback to support both improvement and innovation; utilize dashboard leading indicators to guide instructional design with teams and teachers; model and co-teach lessons and facilitate reflection to determine approaches that best meet learner needs; utilize the SLP leadership approach to support teachers in their efforts to continuously improve their professional practice; coach and mentor new teachers as they transition into the district, and partner with the principal and Educational Services team to effectively implement new teacher induction processes; implement processes of teacher learning and evaluation effectively.
