JOB GOALS:
To coordinate maintaining and reporting of the district’s accounting system. Operation of the district’s business office and maintain a positive culture. To maintain generally acceptable accounting standards and follow local, state and federal reporting guidelines.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate and manage internal auditing and preparation for the external annual financial audit.
2. Assist the Superintendent in the development and administration of the district’s budget. Assist staff with appropriate budget codes and balances.
3. Responsible for understanding current Federal and State funding laws, rules and regulations that impact the budget and district policies and understand changes as they occur.
4. Facilitate all district financial and state/federal compliance reporting, including SERVS. Verify and monitor grant revenues and expenditures to provide analysis and assure compliance.
5. Prepare SEDRA Special Education reporting and complete necessary PAR reports to provide analysis and assure compliance.
8. Review and enter journal entries for the district.
9. Perform finance system maintenance, including UFARS coding changes and fiscal year-end processing.
10. Assist department staff to understand budgets in respect to finance.
11. Administer the purchase order process in accordance with established budgets and District policies.
12. Perform invoicing, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
13. Assist and monitor subsidiary accounting functions including payroll, payroll liability accounts and accounts payable.
14. Administer the fixed asset program for internal control, audit and GASB purposes.
15. Manage various systems to allocate monthly expenditures throughout the district, including but not limited to: online ticketing, postage, copiers, district printing, insurance and sales tax.
