Equity and Inclusion Coordinator
➢ Provides leadership in implementing and maintaining services in accordance with programmatic and regulatory requirements in the area of Equity and Inclusion.
➢ Works with principals to develop a positive building climate that leads to educational equity and student achievement for all students.
➢ Provides leadership in district-wide staff development pertaining to equity and inclusion.
➢ Serves as a resource for information regarding professional development for district administrators.
➢ Collaborates with staff to provide supplemental culturally relevant experiential learning opportunities in and out of the classroom that will help maximize understanding of core standards curriculum content and introduce equity, race and social justice education.
➢ Works with the district’s Teaching and Learning team to enhance and increase resources to ensure that every learner sees themselves reflected in curriculum, learning strategies, school environment, materials, etc.
➢ Collaborates with the Department of Human Resources on recruitment and retention of staff. ➢ Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support district activities in equity and inclusion.
➢ Acts as a consultant to teachers, administrators and other staff regarding culture, heritage and background for students and families.
➢ Develops a framework for and provides support to building teams and committees regarding educational equity.
➢ Establishes and develops strong community relationships to provide our students and families with community resources.
➢ Serves as the district representative for parent and student advisory committees as deemed appropriate and assigned.
➢ Assists in mediating conflict regarding intercultural differences.
➢ Attends training sessions, conferences, seminars, department and district meetings.
➢ Serves on District committees, task forces, work groups, etc. as requested.
➢ Keeps abreast of changing developments, trends, instructional and educational technologies. ➢ Represents the District at local, regional and state meetings, as assigned.
➢ Assists in providing leadership in data driven decision making to improve each student group’s academic performance.
➢ Supervises and provides direction to district Cultural Liaisons.
