.19 FTE – Parent Educator – 2 Evenings a Week

Job Description
1. Using district and program instructional procedures, plan, implement, and assess a parent education curriculum that meets the various needs of parents of children aged birth to five
2. Collaborate with other parent educators to plan and implement lessons
3. Co-teach and collaborate with early childhood teacher(s) and paraprofessionals
4. Effectively facilitate large and small group discussion with parents and caregivers
5. Demonstrate knowledge of child development and positive parenting practices
6. Model positive adult-child interaction
7. Serve as a resource for parents on parenting topics, community resources, etc.
8. Stay up-to-date on current parenting research and best practices
9. Plan guest speakers and other classroom visits throughout the year
10. Communicate with parents/guardians regarding child’s development and progress in the classroom
11. Develop strong relationships with families to promote learning and partnerships with parents/caregivers to promote family engagement
12. Meet with the supervisor on a regular basis to discuss curriculum plans, classroom needs, etc.
13. Attend professional development provided by the district and program, including workshops, presentations, coaching sessions, staff meetings, and Professional Learning Communities; implement the learning in instructional practice 14. Promote a positive image of Centennial Schools and the Centennial Preschool program and contribute to a positive, respectful, professional working environment
15. Demonstrate regular attendance, arrive on time, and follow assigned work schedule correctly
16. Assist in other capacities as determined by the Director.

Student Services Administrative Assistant

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Student Services Administrative Assistant (Classification IV) at our Secondary Building.  This is a 12-month, full-time position, and reports to the Middle School and High School Principals.

Job Summary
Provides clerical support for middle and high school standardized testing and school events.  Assists with communicating and distributing information to students and families.

Job FunctionsProvide clerical support for middle and high school standardized testing and school events, including national honor society, gold awards, honors receptions, and graduation.
Assist with communicating and distributing information to students, staff and community pertaining to middle and high school celebrations, testing and events.
Assist families and students by obtaining answers to questions about courses and academic opportunities.
Organize tours and promote the middle and high school to potential students and families.
Assist with beginning and ending school year tasks to support student success.
Coordinate mailings (virtual and physical) to students and families at the beginning and end of the school year, and other times as needed.
Update and maintain middle school, high school and secondary websites.
Collect money for various funds including graduation and National Honor Society.
Model the IB Learner Profile for students, families and staff.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

ABE Teacher (30 hours per week)

Job Description: This part-time (30 hours per week) teaching position provides an opportunity to work with adults in Forest Lake Area Schools Community Education Adult Basic Education program located at the Forest Lake Area Schools Education Center.  As a part of the ABE teaching team, this position will require using cooperative teaching strategies during instruction and integrating technology into learning.

​Responsibilities and Expectations:
Provide direct individual and group instruction to students who are learning English, improving basic academic skills, preparing for the United States Citizenship exam, developing workplace literacy skills and preparing for the GED exam
Provide instruction to students via Zoom, Google Meet or other approved video conferencing platforms
Fulfill Metro East Consortium requirements such as training and continuing education on curriculum and learning models including College & Career Readiness Standards, assessment tests, etc.
Perform outreach in the community and promote ABE services to potential students, FLAS school staff and community members
Assist the coordinator with student assessment
Return student phone calls
Monitor student attendance
Complete required student record keeping
Provide support for on-site literacy assistants and volunteers as requested
Work Schedule:
For the 2021-2022 fiscal year, this position will be approximately 47 weeks per year at 30 hours per week during the school year and 15 hours per week during the summer.
Wages: $25.88 – $41.33 per hour based on Forest Lake Area Schools Teachers’ Agreement.

Elementary School Counselor
