Professional Skills – The teacher is expected to establish procedures of management to allow a maximum of learning and a minimum of disciplinary action by:

1. Participating actively in inservice programs.

Instructional Coach/Secondary Curriculum Specialist

JOB GOAL:
Responsible for developing and implementing curriculum with staff; acting as a resource person to classroom teachers to implement best practice curriculum and assessment; working with administrators to support and implement the curriculum; conducting an annual evaluation of the curriculum and coordinating the curriculum with other programs and other support services within the school district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Directly support Teaching and Learning in the organization, development and delivery of curriculum-focused professional development.
2. Assist Teaching and Learning in the goal setting and evaluation of K-12 district program.
3. Work with Teaching and Learning to ensure successful completion of all phases of the curriculum cycle.
4. Support Teaching and Learning in establishing a long-term professional development plan for core curriculum implementation.
5. Act as resource person to district teachers on implementation of curriculum.
6. Monitor curriculum alignment to standards, Graduate Learner Outcomes and S.M.A.R.T. goals.
7. Collaborate with Instructional Coaches and Technology Integration Coaches to support teachers in implementing effective strategies for differentiating curriculum.
8. Interpret student assessment data for the continuous improvement of programs and services.
9. Reinforce common language and consistent instructional framework at all sites.
10. Assist with the collection and analysis of data required in planning and evaluation of curricular programs.
11. Facilitate probationary teacher curriculum training.
12. Work collaboratively with the Student Services Psychologist/Teacher on Special Assignment and Instructional Coaches.
13. Serve as a resource person for school board, administration, staff and parents.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal/Teaching and Learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. WI Department of Public Instruction Secondary Teacher license.
2. Minimum of 3 years teaching experience required.
3. Master’s degree in education required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This work regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing and occasionally requires pushing, pulling, lifting, and operating machines; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. school offices/classrooms/passageways).

Wayzata Public Schools is currently seeking candidates to fill a vacancy for middle school associate principal.  The associate principal works in collaboration with the principal to provide a positive environment for the learning community.

Position:
The Middle School Associate Principal works collaboratively with the Principal to provide a positive environment for the
learning community. The responsibilities include curriculum, instruction, student activities and management, personnel,
office management, external relations and transportation.

General Administration. Assumes all administrative duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Principal.
Works with the building principal in establishing a positive environment for achieving educational outcomes.
Works with the Principal, Dean/Counselor, and Team concerning issues that are related to student attendance, discipline, academic achievement and management.
Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs cooperatively with the Special Services staff and may act as the designated administrator in those situations.  This includes counseling and social work services, special education, Child Study Team, Student Assistance Team, 504 Services, Social Services and community referrals.
Coordinates the building intervention team, including arranging or providing for in-service training to  assist staff in their work with “at-risk” students.
Student Relations

Administers student discipline policies within District and building guidelines.
Directs the reporting and monitoring of student attendance.
Maintains accurate records that reflect discipline and behavior issues.
Teacher Relations

Works with teachers in the maintenance of effective discipline.
Works with the principal in the supervision and evaluation of staff.
Community Relations

Assists in the development of effective parental rapport with the school program.
Works with school personnel, parents, community agencies, and students to develop building policies  as needed to insure the smooth functioning of the educational programs.
Maintain contact with persons outside the school district including probation officers, police officers and community resource personnel.

License Requirement:
Possess or able to obtain a valid MN administrative license.

Continuous Innovation and Improvement Coach (TOSA) – #4859 Spring Lake Park

The Continuous Improvement and Innovation Coach is a key teacher leadership role, partnering with the principal and innovative and personalized learning coordinator/specialist to continuously align the work of staff around designing engaging learning experiences so that each student demonstrates mastery of academic and life competencies. Roles and responsibilities include:  Provide personalized coaching and support of teachers in their work with a diverse group of students; create conditions where all staff feel valued, competent, and have a sense of belonging, leading to increased teacher efficacy; partner with schools to implement effective schoolwide embedded professional learning, consistent with beliefs and practices within the Spring Lake Park learning community framework to align the work of staff throughout the system; conference with teachers on a regular basis to reflect on and identify next actions around feedback and learning from observations, progress with professional practice goals, student engagement, and student learning results; meet with professional learning communities to provide support and specific, meaningful feedback to support both improvement and innovation; utilize dashboard leading indicators to guide instructional design with teams and teachers; model and co-teach lessons and facilitate reflection to determine approaches that best meet learner needs; utilize the SLP leadership approach to support teachers in their efforts to continuously improve their professional practice; coach and mentor new teachers as they transition into the district, and partner with the principal and Educational Services team to effectively implement new teacher induction processes; implement processes of teacher learning and evaluation effectively.
