Required Qualifications:

Valid MN teaching license in elementary education for grades K-5.
Must demonstrate continued professional development through coursework, research, and peer collaboration.
Considerable knowledge of the core curriculum areas the teacher is responsible for instructing.
Considerable knowledge of educational philosophy, teaching methods and approaches, current researched best practices, and strategies.
Considerable knowledge of students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
Considerable knowledge of multicultural, gender, and disability fair curriculum concepts.
Considerable knowledge of classroom management techniques.
Working knowledge of instructional technologies.
Considerable skill in classroom presentation.
Considerable skills in classroom management and organization.
Working skill in maintaining records and developing reports.
Considerable ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Considerable ability to plan and implement lessons based upon the district and school goals and objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.
Considerable ability to provide appropriate instruction in core subjects.
Considerable ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations.
Considerable ability to interact effectively with students, parents, other school staff, administration, and community members of diverse ethnic/racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Considerable ability to evaluate student performance and to present these evaluations in a manner that fosters higher student achievement.
Considerable ability to work in a cooperative learning environment.
Working ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

Provide instruction in the core curriculum areas(s) for which employed; make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.
Implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school and/or program for which employed.
Follow the prescribed course of study, except as authorized in the curriculum outlines or by the principals or other official rules and regulations.
Evaluate student performance according to the system used by school and/or District; promote student achievement; maintain required student records; make related reports to the principal as prescribed or authorized by the superintendent.
Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the development of each student.
Perform classroom management duties; enforce District rules governing the conduct of students; take appropriate disciplinary action with students who do not follow District rules.
Enforce District guidelines regarding health and hygienic conditions and practices in the classroom as they may affect the physical and mental health of students.

Director of Human Resources

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Human Resources plans, directs, develops and administers employee/labor relations and human resources functions for the District. This position has the responsibility for formulating, developing and overseeing District human resource programs, policies and services. It is responsible for directing the HR operations and related staff including labor relations activities, recruitment, staffing and retention, compensation/classification and benefits administration. The Director of Human Resources provides leadership in establishing a vision for the school district’s human resources management, guides the development of strategic plans to accomplish this vision, and provides consultation, resource, and advice to administration and principals regarding difficult human resources or employee relation issues, problems or concerns.

Transportation Manager

Job Summary:
Planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing all functions pertaining to the operation of the District’s transportation program; meeting scheduling demands; assisting individuals in the performance of their functions; and resolving and/or recommending solutions to incidents, complaints and/or accidents. Supervise the safe delivery of transportation services to all eligible students residing in District 621.  Responsible for all state and local reports.

Essential job functions include the following:
– Oversee the recruitment, hiring, supervision, work assignments and evaluation of all personnel assigned to transportation.
– Manages District’s transportation contract to ensure safety and cost effective standards in accordance with School Board policy.  Holds contractor to high levels of performance.
– Provide data, prepare specifications and assist with the negotiations of contracts with private carriers as needed; Monitor and ensure compliance with contract terms.
– Directs daily operation of school bus transportation system (coordinated closely with bus contractor) relating to such matters as routing, safety, and school schedules.  Enforces State and School Board regulations and guidelines regarding children, parents and staff.
– Reports to the Department of Public Safety all accidents and student incidents.
– Accumulate necessary data for state reports; complete all information, process documents and file reports in a timely manner.
– Work closely with all building administrators to resolve operational problems in transportation.
– Manages the student transportation software to assure accurate student records and student routing.
– Interacts with parents and staff regarding transportation issues and concerns.
– Review District transportation policies on a yearly basis, and recommend changes as appropriate
– Evaluates program and services to ensure quality service.
