Primary Responsibilities
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to: Provide direct service and support to students identified as English learners, creating an environment in which English learners can use their strengths, leverage home language, and further develop academic English language skills
Identify students for English language services and design and implement student work and learning experiences
Assess and monitor English language development and use the information in lesson design
Communicate regularly with families of students identified as English learners, and all staff who serve English learners, providing updates and working collaboratively to meet the needs of each learner
Collaborate with and support teachers in the implementation of effective language development practices, including sheltered strategies and identifying and communicating academic language needs across content areas
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues
Be a steward for students identified as English Learners and their families
