Associate Principal High School

Previous Principal or Associate Principal experience preferred.

Job Summary:
Act as instructional and supervisor leader for the school in absence of the principal.  Assist in supervision of all employees, and manage operations of the school to ensure implementation of curriculum and educational standards according to State law and District policy.

Essential job functions include the following:
– Assist the principal in the overall organization, administration and supervision of the program in accordance with state and local policies and regulations.

– Assist the principal in the management and preparation of the school budget.

– Assist the principal in the supervision and maintenance of accurate records on the progress, health and attendance of students.

– Act as a liaison between the school and community, interpreting activities and policies of the school and encouraging community participation in school life.

– At the direction of the principal manage building level leadership teams including the building instructional leadership team and the building operations committee.

– Assist the principal in the supervision and development and evaluation of curriculum.

– Maintain high standards of student conduct and discipline students where necessary and appropriate according to due process.

– Assume the duties and responsibilities of the principal in his/her absence.

– Work with the faculty in in-service training, program development and professional growth.

– Lead with parents, faculty and student groups the work necessary to achieve school educational and related goals and objectives.

– Work with the principal in recruiting and interviewing of prospective staff members.

– Supervise teachers by visiting classes, writing reports on observations, counseling with teachers and evaluating the teaching-learning process.

– Work directly with the student services department in providing support service for students.

– Coordinate interventions with at risk students.  Involve dean, teacher, parents, probation officers and welfare agencies where appropriate.

– Supervise hall traffic and behavior.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
– Assume other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the principal.

Behavior Specialist
