General Definition of Work
Performs difficult professional and administrative work developing and managing educational programs, K-12
administrative instruction, professional development, assessment programs and budgets, district-wide enrollment, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the general direction of the Superintendent.
Departmental supervision is exercised over all personnel within in the department; district-wide programs, buildings and staff.

Essential FunctionsServes as acting Superintendent in the absence of the Superintendent.
Serves as Human Rights Officer for students.
Conducts investigations on behalf of district administration as it pertains to student investigations.
Oversees the distribution, collection and analysis for district assessments, tests and reports.
Assigns, directs, trains and reviews staff work; provides recommendations regarding hiring, transferring, promoting, suspending, terminating and demoting employees; evaluates performance and develops staff schedules.
Manages program budgets to maximize efficiencies and assures compliance.
Works with Superintendent on district level initiatives as assigned.
Reviews district and department goals and makes strategic adjustments.
Assists E-12 Principal(s) with enforcing school policies and procedures.
Assists E-12 Principal(s) with developing building improvement plans.
Assists E-12 Principal(s) with access to administrative professional development and coaching
Assists the Superintendent with supervision of E-12 Principals as necessary and appropriate.
Develops the integration and student achievement grant in conjunction with the Superintendent; supervises grant implementation.
Leads planning sessions for district collaborative efforts as appropriate or assigned.
Oversees in-district continuing education credits for teachers and administrators; maintains records of continuing education credits.
Supervises state and federal programs and grants.
Supervises Placement Center enrollment operations and personnel.
Supervises and coordinates the collection, maintenance and dissemination of data for various reports.
Serves on various committees, tasks forces and boards representing the district as assigned.
Serves as liaison between the district, parents and students with respect to issues, questions and concerns pertaining to students services or assigned by the Superintendent.
Designs, implements and evaluates the work of specific strategic roadmap directions as appropriate and assigned; assists Superintendent with strategic planning.
Supervises district discipline procedures, practices and reporting.
Supervises the district student enrollment process and recommends placement to the Superintendent; supervises boundary changes as necessary and under the supervision of the Superintendent.
Provides for mandated services for students as defined and required by state and federal law within areas of responsibility.
Plans, analyzes, organizes, implements and evaluates student service programs within areas of accountability and responsibility.
Evaluates district needs for new services or changes to existing services and programs; recommends and advises new programs or major modifications within areas of responsibility.
Provides staff development opportunities for district staff to develop their skills, documents staff development training to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements as it relates to student service issues.
Coordinates and collaborates with other districts, county or community agencies in matters pertaining to student service programs, needs and collaboration efforts within area of responsibility.
Serves on various committees representing the district; attends and participates in professional organizations, seminars, conferences and training sessions.

Oversees the English Learner program
Oversees the coordination of American Indian Education.
Oversees parent and family engagement programs.
Oversees cultural and urban liaisons.
Other duties as assigned.
Attends work regularly and arrives on time; attends board meetings and work sessions as needed.

Elementary Spanish Immersion Teacher

Principal – Associate High School

The High School currently serves a population of approximately 1200 students grades 9-12.  This position supports the High School Principal along with the Associate Principal of Student Activities as the leadership team for the building.

Associate Administrator

The Associate Administrator is responsible for helping staff establish a safe, positive, and respectful school culture in which students are supported and are recognized for excellence.  The Associate Administrator will work in a highly visible leadership capacity to maintain a supportive, productive, and enriching school culture. The Associate Administrator will play an instrumental role in establishing and reinforcing high expectations for an actively engaging learning environment. The Associate Administrator will maintain consistent and constructive communication with teachers, principals, students, and student families in an effort to ensure that school culture norms are effectively defined and reinforced. The Associate Administrator will support teachers in their development of creating a culture of learning and an environment of respect and rapport.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as an active member of the school’s building leadership team;
  • Setting measurable goals for the upcoming academic year and plan ways to make them a part of school culture;
  • Lead and coordinate schoolwide assessments; act as School Assessment Coordinator;
  • Support the student registration and master scheduling process;
  • Serve on school and district committees as directed by principal;
  • Serve as site leader and liaison to district office for AVID;
  • Responsible for coordinating and supporting student attendance, behavior, and crisis-intervention plans to achieve site identified goals;
  • Facilitating the school’s PBIS processes;
  • Proactively construct a positive student culture and mitigate disciplinary infractions before they occur;
  • Educating students, staff, and families regarding the handbook guidelines, and holding all constituents accountable for adhering to the handbook;
  • Creating community by leading restorative and responsive practices, student groups/circles and student celebrations;
  • Serving as a behavior coach for teachers;
  • Analyzing data for needs, and evaluating the issues around classroom management, classroom procedures, and other identified areas;
  • Seeking to study, review, and share related research materials and documents to increase understanding around the classroom environment;
  • Facilitating faculty and staff professional development related to school culture, restorative practices, consistent implementation of PBIS, and social-emotional support for students;
  • Using knowledge of students and families and their diverse needs to ensure equitable healthy and effective responses to student needs;
  • Supporting faculty and parents in creating intervention plans and individual behavioral contracts and helping to monitor student progress with those plans;
  • Assisting with the coordination of Intervention meetings as well as grade level or department student themed meetings;
  • Serving as an administrative designee for Child Study and IEP meetings;
  • Coordinating supervision of cafeteria, and passing time; and
  • Designing, attending and participating in events outside of normal school hours, and performing such other duties as the school may reasonably assign from time to time.

Building RN

Included within this role is the management of students’ chronic & acute health conditions while at school; first aid for acute injuries; assisting with screenings and assessments for special services and per referral; and promoting health and wellness within the Mahtomedi Middle School community.
