POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, the Assistant Director / Principal for Intermediate School District 917’s Federal Setting IV Special Education programs and Social Emotional Learning and Supports directs the implementation of special education programming, including curriculum, district policies, and continuously overseeing staff and students. The Assistant Director / Principal plays a vital role in providing leadership to create and sustain a consistent, safe environment conducive to education at the assigned program as well as on a district-wide level. In this role, one helps lead, model, and encourage respect, communication, and competency. This role is performed following District policy and State/Federal Laws.
Director of Human Resources
- Serve as a member of the District’s lead team and be the leader of district-wide Human Resources issues and strategies
- Develop and maintain School Board policies, leadership protocols and operational plans related to Human Resources that are in compliance with state and federal law and are consistent with the District’s vision and mission
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, and orientation process for all District employees
- Serve as the District’s leader in all employee relations and labor relations issues
- Represent the School Board as the Chief Negotiator in the collective bargaining process with all bargaining groups
- Ensure staff performance by overseeing the District’s performance appraisal systems and process
- Analyze staffing needs to ensure optimal staffing levels and assignments District-wide
- Supervise the student teacher program and teacher exchange programs including university partnerships
- Oversee the District’s personnel records and files
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level or as assigned by Superintendent
Student Support Assistant
Student Support Assistant (Temporary) – Secondary Building
This is a temporary position scheduled to work through June 3, 2020. The position works 6.5 hours per day (Monday – Friday), and will follow the school calendar.
Job Summary
Under the direction of the building/department administration and/or guidance from the Student Support Specialist, supervise students in various settings and assist with managing student behaviors under established rules, policies and procedures.
Job Functions
Assist proactively with implementing individual student behavior plans.
Support managing student conflicts and behavior issues pre-emptively.
Record and manage student behavioral data.
Respond to unexpected situations as needed.
Provide overall supervision to groups or individual students.
Utilize positive behavior strategies and de-escalation techniques with students.
Be a positive role model for respectful behavior and problem solving strategies.
Communicate with students and staff in a positive and supportive manner.
Help to create and maintain positive, safe environments throughout the school building and school grounds (i.e. gym, lunchroom, classroom, hallways, playground).

We are currently seeking a 1.0 FTE Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to work with students birth to age 3 using the Primary Service Provider model and will follow the early childhood special education calendar.

The position is working 5.5 hours per day; student contact days only.
Job Functions
Collect money and deposit into accounts on a daily basis. Monitor free/reduced meal status of students. Maintain adult meal accounts. Complete accurate daily deposit and day end procedures.
Ensure point of sale equipment is ready for operation and is operating correctly.
Maintain approved carry-on cash in cash drawer. Maintain accurate records of meal charges and check blocks and parent requests for blocking student accounts.
Work with parents/staff to notify parents of insufficient funds in meals accounts and collect money for these accounts in accordance with the Nutrition Services Administrative Assistant.
Process adjustments to accounts as directed by the Nutrition Services Director, Assistant Director and/or Nutrition Services Secretary.
Monitor meal components and claim meals for reimbursement that adhere to federal guidelines and cashiering for ala carte.
Assemble and prepare food items according to child nutrition guidelines, standardized recipes and directions from the Cook Manager.
Maintain a clean work area and handle food properly using procedures established in HACCP plans
Utilize safety measures as it pertains to use and operation of equipment in the kitchen including utensils, knives, and other equipment
Represent a positive public relations environment with customers
Attend education classes, training classes and or workshops as required
