Position Purpose: Provide services to children with exceptional educational needs, and to educate staff when children require occupational therapy to benefit from special education. To improve, develop, restore, or maintain a child’s active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play in educational environments.

Licensure Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
Current certification from the National board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
Current Occupational Therapy license from the Minnesota Department of Health
Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment: Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).

Wayzata Public Schools is currently seeking candidates to fill a vacancy for middle school associate principal. The associate principal works in collaboration with the principal to provide a positive environment for the learning community.
Position:
The Middle School Associate Principal works collaboratively with the Principal to provide a positive environment for the
learning community. The responsibilities include curriculum, instruction, student activities and management, personnel,
office management, external relations and transportation.

General Administration. Assumes all administrative duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Principal.
Works with the building principal in establishing a positive environment for achieving educational outcomes.
Works with the Principal, Dean/Counselor, and Team concerning issues that are related to student attendance, discipline, academic achievement and management.
Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs cooperatively with the Special Services staff and may act as the designated administrator in those situations. This includes counseling and social work services, special education, Child Study Team, Student Assistance Team, 504 Services, Social Services and community referrals.
Coordinates the building intervention team, including arranging or providing for in-service training to assist staff in their work with “at-risk” students.
Student Relations
Administers student discipline policies within District and building guidelines.
Directs the reporting and monitoring of student attendance.
Maintains accurate records that reflect discipline and behavior issues.
Teacher Relations
Works with teachers in the maintenance of effective discipline.
Works with the principal in the supervision and evaluation of staff.
Community Relations
Assists in the development of effective parental rapport with the school program.
Works with school personnel, parents, community agencies, and students to develop building policies as needed to insure the smooth functioning of the educational programs.
Maintain contact with persons outside the school district including probation officers, police officers and community resource personnel.
License Requirement:
Possess or able to obtain a valid MN administrative license.
