JOB GOAL:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Professional Skills – The teacher is expected to establish procedures of management to allow a maximum of learning and a minimum of disciplinary action by:
1. Planning and organizing effectively.
2. Demonstrating competency in his/her area.
3. Creating and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to learning.
4. Providing opportunities for individual differences.

4. Using methods of management that result in desired changes in behavior.

The teacher is expected to establish and maintain a professional relationship with fellow staff members by:

12. Following curriculum and policies approved by the Board.
13. Cooperating in evaluation of present curriculum.

Professional Development: The teacher is expected to demonstrate professional development by:
1. Participating actively in inservice programs.
2. Keeping abreast of professional developments in his/her particular area and in education as a whole.
3. Exploring new teaching techniques as alternatives to better accomplish predetermined instructional objectives.

Assistant Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning

TITLE:
Assistant Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning

REPORTS TO:
Chief Academic Officer

JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Assistant Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning shall be responsible for supporting the planning, coordinating, and implementing of a comprehensive school-instructional program that facilitates learning; for providing visionary leadership for the Curriculum Improvement Process (CIP) for all 6-12 curricular teams; and for providing leadership to the secondary teaching and learning coaches.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plan and coordinate the evaluation of the secondary educational programs.
2. Coordinate the District’s secondary professional development programs.
3. Assess the educational needs of the District at the secondary level and provide the necessary input and guidance in the development of programs and procedures related to secondary curriculum.
4. Provide the necessary direction for the development, implementation, and refinement of secondary curriculum, instruction, and assessment to meet state and local standards.
5. Provide assistance to staff and administration in the development of new curriculum and programs for the academic year and the summer program.
6. Provide assistance to staff and administration in the maintenance and refinement of existing curriculum and programs.
7. Oversee the CIP process including professional development for the review team for each pertinent content area and professional learning community teams.
8. Support Teaching and Learning in establishing a long-term professional development plan for core curriculum implementation.
9. Assist with the collection and analysis of data required for the planning and evaluation of secondary curricular programs.
10. Assist in the development and implementation of a yearly budget that will provide the necessary curriculum evaluation and development.
11. Cooperate and be an active member of the administrative teams (Hudson Lead and Hudson Learn).
12. Collaborate with District Assessment Specialist to interpret student assessment data for the continuous improvement of programs and services.
13. Lead the supervision and evaluation of the secondary teaching and learning coaches.
14. Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Elementary Teaching and Learning to ensure 4K-12 vertical curricular alignment.
15. Collaborate with Student Services in the development and implementation of related services and programs for secondary students.
16. Serve as a resource person for school board, administration, staff, and parents by participating in and coordinating presentations and committee meetings.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.
