Description:  To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.  Coordinate the planning, program development, evaluation, and improvement of Student Services programming; implement the continuous program improvement process; ensure Student Services programming is conducted according to rules and regulations; supervise staff; make appropriate and equitable use of resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the District and department for which employed; support District and department leaders implementation of program improvement plans; coordinate the development and delivery of system staff development; build capacity in staff to meet system-wide and department initiatives to ensure equitable achievement gains for scholars; initiate and sustain collaboration within and across departments, programs, and buildings to improve scholar achievement; coordinate and support in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning and services when applicable; participate in district and department leadership activities.  Ability to be flexible with work hours to meet the needs of the district and department at the discretion of the supervisor.

Job Summary:  The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental job duties:

Developing staff and/or individual capacity to apply technical/functional expertise for maximum impact; developing, implementing, and coordinating professional learning opportunities for department staff; providing guidance and work direction, when applicable, for support staff.
Creating and utilizing structures to ensure equitable hiring opportunities; exercising professional judgment regarding recommendation for employment, and coordinating hiring for direct reports.
Providing supervision to direct reports, including formative feedback and timely performance evaluations and/or demonstrating attention to quality enhancement by improving efficiencies and effectiveness in recordkeeping, workflow and compliance.
Leading the work of others; delegating tasks and authority appropriately and/or establishing procedures to guide system and departmental work; monitoring and demonstrating effective decision-making strategies in order to meet project deadlines.

Showing knowledge of resources aligned to instructional and program outcomes; showing knowledge of teacher professional resources to extend content knowledge and pedagogy; showing knowledge of and exercising professional judgment regarding implementation of high-quality instructional materials to ensure access to rigorous content and support scholars’ needs, engagement, and mastery.
Collaborating with department leaders to develop annual budgets; managing District and department resources equitably, effectively, and efficiently; collaborating with department leaders to develop tactical and strategic goals by analyzing program operational and strategic needs and resources (including; budget, personnel, time, facilities, materials) to ensure that expenditures are appropriate, meet objectives, and are within budget; making budget recommendations.
Knowing, understanding and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines including Board Policies.
Applying effective and equitable decision-making processes.
Analyzing scholars’ achievement data in order to make informed continuous improvement processes recommendations.
Studying and remaining current with research and trends in areas such as curriculum, instruction, digital learning, and assessment to ensure program improvements are aligned with research.
Identifying, planning, implementing, and analyzing staffs’ professional learning needs, using formal and informal staff assessment tools, that align with department and/or district strategic plans; developing, implementing, and coordinating professional learning opportunities for staff.
Collaborating and providing leadership for projects that integrate various district departments and/or outside agencies; collaborating with staff, community, and the Minnesota Department of Education on issues of mutual interest; coordinating work with other departments to influence the use of technology for scholars for learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Licensed as a Director of Special Education in Minnesota.
Education: Commensurate with license requirements.
Minimum of three years experience in the field.
Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed as School Principal preferred.

Ability to work with parents, community groups and diverse local, regional and state agencies;
Ability to coordinate program implementation, develop program improvement, initiate action, render recommendations and evaluate programs;

Job summary:  Provide secretarial/clerical support to the Main Office

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Provide secretarial/clerical support in the form of typing, filing, duplication of materials, faxing, etc.
Prepare and maintain complete student data in Synergy.
Receive parent calls, record information, verify information, and refer to administration and/or counselors when necessary.
Receive, answer, and/or refer student questions as they relate to school policies and procedures, attendance, discipline; provide information to administrative staff as requested.
Manage student incident reports in Synergy and pull reports for administration when necessary.
Type and maintain various reports and records as they relate to administration and counseling.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

General Purpose of Job:  To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing administrative support  to the Assistant Superintendents of the Division of Leadership, Teaching, and Learning (DLTL). Answer correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information.  Interact with a diverse group of external customers as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.  Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and carry out a diversified workload, and make recommendations for changes in office practices or procedures.  Provide in-depth secretarial support to Director of Business Services, and Business Services staff; maintain efficient office operations; communicate effectively with staff and the public.

Job Summary:  The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to the following fundamental job duties:

Responsible for compiling monthly financial reports for the Board of Education and submitting to the Executive Specialist to the Superintendent and School Board.
Responsible for developing and completing sections of the Annual Budget document and distribute appropriately.
Maintain Administrative Procedure Manual.  Provide assistance to departments by answering questions relating to procedures and appropriate use of forms.
Assist with maintenance of district wide record retention and disposition program.
Responsible for requesting certificates of insurance from district’s insurance representative as needed by the building staff.
Liaison for vehicle and liability related accident reports.  Report auto and liability claims to insurance provider.  Follow up on insurance claims.
Assist Director with annual renewal of district’s insurance.
Prepare and submit the semi-annual claim for refund of gasoline tax to State of Minnesota.
Prepare and submit the annual Unclaimed Property Report and follow-up annually on any property listed as unclaimed through State of Minnesota.
Assist with year-end audit by providing support to auditors in the form of completing various memos, letters, and forms.
Provide extensive support with Microsoft products.
Assist with preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the ASBO Certificate of Excellence award program.
Process purchase order requests as requested.
Coordinate both internal and external W-9 and set up vendors within the Finance system.
Process checks as requested.
Provide technical and clerical support for the Business Services Department.
Performing other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Qualifications:

High school graduate.
Vocational and/or business training.
In-depth administrative support, Microsoft Office products, and accounting work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitities include:

Excellent verbal and written skills, including knowledge of office practices, grammar, spelling and  public school district finance terminology.
Ability to interact with people in a professional and effective manner.
Knowledge of finance resources and operations (i.e., EFP systems)
Ability to analyze and create data reports.
Advanced knowledge of computers and software applications with proficiency in MS Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet.
Experience with on-line ordering and account reconciliation.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative and ingenuity.
Value cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
Knowledge of accounting concepts and terminology.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to develop and maintain record systems.
Ability to work successfully in a team setting.
